Hi i have the above tv hooked up to my dvd player with 5.1 surround and built in amp.
Im having a prob with the built in freeview dtv on the tv though. when i put it into dtv i lose nicam stereo and it reverts to just stereo. Any ideas how to fix this?? |

You don't have a problem!
NICAM is the method used to put a stereo signal onto a normal analogue TV signal (Near Instantaneous Companded Audio Multiplex). The TV converts the NICAM signal back to normal stereo. With DTV, this doesn't have to happen, so the TV just displays "stereo". |

Subject to how it is connected it can do - my AVR goes much quieter when watching any "true" digitial source - Sky Movies 1&2, DVD, CD etc

Most digiboxes now have some form of volume control for their "output". It's possible you can compensate by finding this feature on the box and turnining it up a bit.
