As above. I'm thinking of ditching my Freeview box in favour of a Freeview DVDR, and have been looking at the RDR-HXD310, but want to make sure it records RGB from the Freeview tuner before purchasing.

Basic answer is yes it does.

although the process for an RGB to DVD conversion requires an analogue to digitial conversion and will reduce the quality a bit. this would mainly be from a source such as a Sky-digi box through a Scart connection.

as for the HXD310, this obviously has a Freeview tuner built in, and there are some debates as to wether the machine converts the video stream from digital to analogue and back to digital MPEG2 to record it to the DVD or if the machine simply at the higher recording settings simply takes digital MPEG stream and saves it to DVD without any conversion process degrading the quality of the video image

I personally have the HXD710 and the quality of the Freeview recording is far better than the recording I get from my Sky digi box through Scart, and freeview recording are as perfect as the original broadcast.
