Isn't it just because Adele's description of herself is unusual that it is causing comment?. Alex caused controversy with his 'bisexual' comment, and deliberately made people curious about how well-endowed he was; Jonny ran around naked and tried to get Kate/Jade to strip; Kate played sex-games with Alex and flirted with Spencer; Lee tried it on with Adele and then Sophie; etc etc.

In my view, they all consciously or unconsciously tried to present themselves as sexually interesting - Adele just happened to be doing so from a very different perspective, which people still react strongly to.

I think that perhaps the difference between Adele and some of the others was that she was overtly 'playing the game' and so the temptation is to look at every aspect of her behaviour in terms of her tactics. If she's in there playing a game it's hard for viewers to tell where the playing stops and 'reality' starts ...

But it is possible that there is no conflict between playing the game and telling the truth! Adele might have realised that the truth would have 'value' within the game, but it would still be the truth! The alternative might have been to lie, or to keep quiet.

Surely she had a strategy (she mentioned it at the DR that she was in play-mode) but I don't think her sexuality orientation had any major part in it, as most HMs talked about theirs as well.

I think her strategy was to spend a good part of her stay in the house playing a very *low* profile and be unnoticeable as to not be nominated. She was extremely friendly to every housemate even to those she disliked. That nearly worked! But she couldn't hide her feeling of dislike of certain HMs (particularly Jonny) and gave her opinion of him openly to us the viewers during her DR appearences and to her allies Sandy Alex and Jade. That was her downfall I think as she appeared to be 2 faced. If she really wanted to push her game plan to be successful she shouldn't have talked about her dislike of Jonny openly, not even to her allies, and should just have bottled it all up and pretended to like him even when talking about him to Alex and Jade. But I guess she's only human and had to take it out off her chest by talking about it to Alex and Jade .

I don't see that anyone is criticising Adele for her strategy and of course the others will have used their own sexuality to a greater or lesser extent (with the exception of Sandy perhaps) to further their cause.

The point of the thread is to consider if there is any explanation of the inconsistencies of Adele's story other than downright lies.

It seemed to me that it might be interesting to try and identify and mebbe analyse the strategies of the various housemates.

All I'm trying to say is that because in SOME of her behaviour she's obviously 'playing the game', some viewers may have leapt to the conclusion that MOST or ALL of her behaviour (including 'revelations' of sexuality) was part of this 'game-playing') ... I don't know if it was or it wasn't ... and don't have a strong opinion either way

Hmmm. My memory's letting me down now. I think it started when he got the girls onto the rich side (cant remember how or why). You're right that she did seem more to tolerate his advances than out and out encourage them. Mebbe some of the other forum members could refresh our memory.

They became close when they were in the poor side (the first week when the divide come up) he liked hopping in her bed. I guess it was the time when the relationship between Adele and Lee was over (as Lee unded up in the rich side with Sophie) and so Alex thought he will cheer Adele up, and then things went from that point.

There relationship had nothing to do with Lee and her needing cheering up. Alex liked Adele because she was clean like him and he admired her intelligence. He started by dishing her compliments like 'you will make a good wife someday' and I noticed how much he liked her when he nominated Spencer for not appreciating the food she had cooked on the poor side.

i think the point is not whether adele is actually a virgin, but rather that she has made the point that she is not a very sexual person (whether this means actual intercourse or other activities), and then said in the BB book that she has sex lots.

No, of course not, their relationship had nothing to do with Lee. What I was describing is HOW and WHEN they started flirting with each other, it was when Alex felt that Lee is out of the way. If Lee stayed with Adele and continued his flirting with Adele, then I doubt Alex would approach Adele the way he did it and I doubt Adele would have reciprocated.

Of course once they *started* to get close and gel together, Adele and Alex developed their special relationship regardless of Lee or cheering up.

She said she would rather give than receive and from previous experience, I can tell you that the giver usually gets more of a workout than the receiver. It can be exhausting

Too be honest with everyone I couldn't careless about her sexual activities, I am finding the whole subject boring and I don't know why Adele has made such a big issue about it. All she had to say was that she was a bisexual virgin and leave it as thus. But then why did she have to go on that she has lots of sex etc and this has helped her lost weight, a sane person would not go on TV and make such a statement to the whole country, would any right minded person tell everyone what they are getting and what they are not getting, that should be a private matter to oneself not something to be shared with everyone else. I know she was on BB but seriously did the public need to know that? A lady never tells the world what she is doing sexually.

It's funny how people have different perspectives. She left with far more dignity with regard to her conduct sexually than some other people I could mention. And all this debate about her not behaving respectfully because of something she put on her form NOT how she acted in the house is silly.

I wasn't even talking about what she wrote on her form. I agree some of the HM's were far worse than her, but since leaving the house she seems to have made such a debate about her sexuality something which I couldn't careless about. Not many people I know both men and women talk about what they do behind closed doors, it is not a topic people want to know.
