Can it be done. I've googled it and the Wikipedia thing kind of said its not related to iPods, just used the Pod part because iPods are uber popular but my heads all blah so I couldn't understand.

I know there are "Zencasts" but just wondering, do Podcasts work on Creative MP3 players?

Of course podcasts DO work on Zen players.

The podcast is simply an ordinary MP3 file. They can be played on anything that can support MP3s - computers, MP3 players etc.

A "podcast" is just an RSS feed in which a media file (usually MP3) is embedded. Even if your player doesn't have RSS support, it will still be able to play the MP3 file.

Podcasts have nothing to do with the iPod whatsoever, although I'm sure Apple would like you to think otherwise...

Those tricky little buggers.

Cheers guys. This is why I don't like having a cold, all logic and sense leaves me.

Apple didn't come up with the name, though. They just sort of appropriated it when they added podcast support to iTunes 4.9...

"The term "podcasting" was one of several terms for portable listening to audioblogs suggested by Ben Hammersley in The Guardian on February 12, 2004, referring to Lydon's interview programs ("...all the ingredients are there for a new boom in amateur radio. But what to call it? Audioblogging? Podcasting? GuerillaMedia?")[22]. In September of 2004, Dannie Gregoire also used the term to describe the automatic download[23] and synchronization of audio content; he also registered several 'podcast' related domains (e.g. podcast.net). The use of 'podcast' by Gregoire was picked up by podcasting evangelists such as Dave Slusher[24], Winer and Curry, and entered common usage."

I know, they just like to pretend its about them. In the description for iPod video it says something like "First there was..., then ..., then podcasts..."
