Highlights from tonight’s show, Sunday 22 January, 9.00pm on Channel 4

•Preston is shocked by George’s betrayal
•Celebrities don leotards for performance task
•George, Chantelle and Dennis face the public vote

Day 17
10.10am

All of the housemates are awake. In the kitchen, Preston tells Chantelle how healthy and rosy-cheeked she is looking today. She tells him she feels good today and excited about something. Pete is in the Diary Room. He says “Dracula has risen from the grave” and thanks Big Brother for the long sleep. Big Brother reminds Pete that yesterday he said he wanted to leave. Pete says that he’s spoken to George and has decided to stay, unless Big Brother would like him to leave. Big Brother tells him that by not sitting with the rest of the housemates during yesterday’s eviction he broke a fundamental house rule and as a consequence is given a formal warning.

In the bedroom, Dennis and Maggot are talking about Michael wanting to pick a fight with Dennis the night before. Dennis says he’s just trying to help people out in the house. Moments later, Michael asks Denis if he wants pancakes for breakfast.

12.23pm
Maggot, Dennis, Chantelle and Pete are in the bedroom talking about Michael. Pete is concerned they’re beginning to turn on each other. Last night’s row between Michael and Dennis was the worst. “It was thunder” says Pete.

George and Preston are in the log cabin. Preston says the atmosphere has been surprisingly normal considering last night’s argument. George says it “makes you so grateful that you don’t have the problems of some of the people in the house.” He says that when Pete talks about his life it makes him feel like slitting his wrists. They talk about Michael’s obsession with cigarettes. George says it’s strange that they’ve been given nothing to do today. Preston agrees.

3.19pm
Big Brother has gathered the housemates in the living room. Preston has been instructed to read out a conversation that George had with Rula about the public nominations in which he said he would have picked Preston if he could have. Preston is shocked to hear this but George tells him that he’s comfortable with the conversation becoming public knowledge as he would have nominated him one day.

George is punished for talking about nominations yet again. Big Brother has put a polling booth in the house and each of the housemates must vote whether George should be allowed to take part in today’s nominations. Chantelle is the first to vote, and decides that George should not be allowed to vote.

Meanwhile, George and Preston continue to bicker by telling each other how ridiculous each is. George tells Preston it’s just a game.

The housemates continue to vote whether George should be allowed to nominate. So far, he has 3 votes each way. Preston makes the deciding vote and says George should not be allowed to vote saying “cheating politician, who’d have thought it.”

4.23pm
Most of the housemates are in the kitchen. Maggot says he’s not interested in what goes on in the house but thinks more about the outside.

George is in the Diary Room asking Big Brother to check what he had said about voting for Preston, maintaining he had said ‘could’ instead of ‘would’ have voted Preston. Big Brother reminds him that it is strictly against rules to discuss nominations. George replies “to my certain knowledge, I am not the only person to have broken that rule.”

4.44pm
Big Brother has gathered the housemates in the living room to make nominations.

George receives 4 nominations, Chantelle and Dennis both receive 3 each and all face the public vote.

6.33pm
21 minutes since nominations. Dennis and Pete are talking about George and Preston’s falling out. Pete observes that Preston was devastated that George would have nominated him saying “you’d have thought he’d (George) have beaten his (Preston) mother to death.”

In the bedroom, Maggot is telling Preston he should have gone with his instinct. Preston agrees and admits he was really shocked. He says the others see them as young, easy pickings.

6.50pm
Maggott is talking about how Pete frustrates him. He says “he’s really narking me off, there’s going to be a flash point situation in the next 2 days.”

Pete, George and Dennis are in the spa. Pete says “it’s fascinating to see how Chantelle and Pete are becoming more cunning. Chantelle is all giggly, sexy poses. Preston has sly eyes, thought he had it all stitched up, he’s working on Michael now.”

They talk about Michael, saying he has diplomatic immunity because everyone cares about his mental welfare. George says he wants to see Michael make a comeback. Pete says he already has, just depends on whether he can weather the storm. George says Michael’s a damaged guy.

8.28pm
Big Brother has given the housemates a task in which they must express emotions through the medium of dance. The housemates must pair up and each wear full length leotards. Chantelle says he can’t wait to see what Dennis looks like.

9.17pm
Housemates are about to begin their dance performances. Pete says he “wouldn’t run from a burning house wearing this (leotard)”. Traci and Dennis are first up and must perform the emotion jealously to ballet.

Chantelle and Michael portray rage through Irish dancing. Pete and George must perform the emotions of bewilderment when a small puppy won’t come to you through the medium of robotic dance. Preston and Maggot act confused to 70’s disco.

10.26pm
Traci is alone in the sauna. George is alone in the garden. For performing the dance task, Big Brother has rewarded the housemates with a hamper containing alcohol, cigarettes and cigars. Preston says he doesn’t fancy drinking red wine but wants to go to bed instead. Michael starts to count the cigarettes.

11.30pm
Traci, Maggot and Dennis are in the spa. Tracy says she’s going for a tinkle but will leave the door open so she can hear them talking about her.

Preston is in the Diary Room saying that George is acting very weird, trying to be civil. Preston thought they had a valid friendship but George is just playing a game. He ends by saying he expects himself or Chantelle to be up for eviction following nominations.

thanks for that
I was hoping they'd show the Dennis and Chantelle "discussion." Dennis really pissed me off in that.

Looks like a really boring show.

Traci missing entirely apart from the most negative clip they could probably find.

There is always a chance it will start the show tomorrow.

Sometimes the really late night stuff isn't shown until the following day.

When Traci was keeping everyone awake and saying "I've been nominated" , it didn't air until the start of the following days show.

Ridiculous. When Traci was up for eviction and C4 wanted her out, they couldn't show enough of Traci. Now she's going to be there until Friday though, they don't want to show her. Ridiculous.

I do hope so, it was such a refreshing change to see Traci and Maggot at ease enjoying themselves and no bitching going on. I couldn't drag myself away until 4am and that was hard not knowing what they would do after they came out the diary room.
