I've never known any DVD player play DVDs with mp3 on.
However all the ones I have had have played CDs with MP3s on.

Is the SCDV290, the big silver surround hifi? We have a one in the shop, I'll try today.

I doubt you will find whast you are looking for unless you put together a specialist/high end seperate system, which you will pay extremely high prices for.

The SC-DV290 is about the best all round performer in the low end home entertainment audio section. Can I ask why you need 5 DVD's worth of MP3's in the system at any one time. You may better with a HDD component player.

The best thing about my Yamada 8400X DVD recorder is that it has a USB host for mp3 playback.
I bought a £7 2.5" USB drive case and fitted an old laptop drive.
Great sound.

It also plays DVD mp3 which did suprise me.

The Coop Cello is pretty much the same unit being cleared at £50!!!!!!!
Itt is this price because of a 'timer recording' niggling problem which will probably be fixed with new firmware.
