Is Stacey Slater the new Bobby Simpson?
Stacey Slater is a character who's really grwoing on me n i like her more and more. I am beginning to see a bit of a resemblence between her and Bobby from home and away - both very loyal (Bobby to Ailsa and Stacey to Ruby), both tel it like it is, both a bit tomboyish, both have bad backgrounds, both very bright, both misunderstood and neither for the subtle approach!!!!! I think there's a lot of good in Stacey, like Bobby, and I think she'll go down as an EE legend. Any one else agree????

Yes I agree I love Stacy she has her head firmly on her shoulders, she's not thick and nieve like Ruby, she's not afraid to speak up for what she believes in I think she is a good role model...and a great character..and I remember Bobby Simpson I even bought "the Bobby Simpson story" in paperback I must have been about 14 that time and she was great as well so sad that they killed her off

Bobby Simpson was classic, I also bought the book, I desperately wanted to run away to Summer Bay when I was 10 & work in the Diner & talk on the legendery 'burger phone'!!
Stacey is like a mini Kat, I would have loved to have seen more episodes with Kat & Stacey. |

Stacey is brilliant, but one notable difference is that Bobby was a minger and Stacey is very attractive.

Stacey is outwardly cynical but deep down she is an idealist, the same was true of Bobby I think.
Kat and Stacey's relationship became incredibly deep in a very short space of time, and one can't help but imagine what Jessie Wallace, Lacey Turner and the writers would have done over a longer a longer period. Stacey is already well on her way to becoming an EE legend, and could even surpass Kat. |

Stacey has made EE worth it. Even just a scene with her lights up an entire episode. She's brilliant.
Lacey Turner really isnt hype, she is so talented. And Stacey is one of the few characters who really is working and doesnt have some terrible flaw that puts you off. She really is believeable. The only thing i dislike is the way she is so gutted about someone as foolish and irritable as Ruby but it doesnt really matter, Stacey is a class act. I hope EE hang on to her because this girl really could be the future. |

Well Stacey would want to be a bloody good character to warrant all the media push EE gave this "Cousin Oliver*" when they first launched her into the show.
I thought it was ridiculous when I saw it first but she seems to have become a good character. * For those who don't know Cousin Oliver was a character introduced into the Brady bunch when the existing kids weren't "cute" anymore. The term has become used for characters like Stacey, the long lost relative who shows up and moves in for some reason. |

The thing with her missing Ruby is it is not so much to do with Ruby as the part of herself that is connected to Ruby.
She had no friends before Ruby (Abby was a manipulator, not a friend). She put up with Ruby's immaturity because Ruby is the only person she has. Stacey is terrified of being alone. Incidentally I think when Stacey told Ruby about Jean and Dennis, Ruby started to understand, that's the implication of Ruby's letter. There are very few people who can relate to Stacey (with Kat and Dennis gone Ruby was the last one). Stacey only lets you in if she feels she can trust you, and that makes it difficult for her to form friendships. |

Don't you think her appearance has changed a bit in the last few weeks? She seems to look very tired and puffy around the eyes and cheeks. She doesn't look as glowing with health as she did a while back. Hope she hasn't discovered the party lifestyle coz she's a very good actress and very believable in her role.

I noticed that too. I think she may have had a cold or flu when the episodes were filmed most likely.

I was thinking last night she actually reminds me a little bit of Tiffany when she first came into to EE before she went all soppy over Grant.
