Emergency Services - NHS - conspiracy theory
chrissie
31-07-2002
Or Vote Jonny and Kate and keep us in employment.

It has been rumoured[?] that a large number of people employed in this sector voted for Jonny to Kate to win.

Could this be due to following factors :

Ambulance Service -

People like Jonny and Kate keep the ambulance service fully employed - especially on Friday and Saturday nights.
i.e.
Unconscious when drunk
Choking when drunk
Sick when drunk
Assault when drunk
Overdose by close members of family due to dubious behaviour when drunk
Drowning when drunk
The list goes on.
*****

Police :

People like Jonny and Kate keep the police fully employed - esp Friday and Saturday nights.

see all of the above and more.
******

Fire service:

Smoking in bed
Lighting a barbecue when drunk
Misuse of kitchen appliances eg putting metal in microwaves
Cooking when drunk
Etc
******
Coastguard:

Drowning when drunk
*******

NHS - Hospitals

A/E departments - esp Friday and Saturday nights

all of the above

Wards - Alcoholism and Smoking - no comment

Without people like Jonny and Kate these hard working services would almost become redundant but think how much money would be saved for people needing urgent operations and treatment.

don't forget the streetcleaners who have to scrub up Katie's gut contents off the pavement, also a special mention to everyone who voted from Sketchley, who have the job each Saturday morning of sorting out her stained up outfits.

Also what about all the people employed in the sports industry - eg
Formula one - Tobacco
Snooker - Tobacco

The advertising industry - Beer

Oh, let's be fair to Jonny (can't believe I've just typed that) - I imagine that the entire emergency services would want to vote for one of their own, a fireman, and why not?
As someone wrote on another forum (I think), I'd be happy to see anyone leering at me in a fireman's helmet, even Jonny or Jade, if I needed to be rescued.

i also can't quite believe this thread, or how self-righteous everyone seems to have become about a group of young people living in unnatural circumstances with little to occupy themselves, resorting to alchohol as a source of enjoyment.

ok so they got drunk. since when was that criminal. it can lead to criminal behaviour but i don't think we have seen any of that from the HM's in the house.

it makes me laugh the way they have been slated for being drunk and acting stupid. in my experience this is what the majority of young people do (to pre-empt anyone who is going to judge me on this, i am 24, from a working class background, went to oxford university, have a brain in my head and a successful career etc etc). and out of all of my friends who regularly drink (to excess at times - oh my god no!!!!!) i can't name one who is some kind of layabout, criminal, dangerous, useless person. they are all 'NORMAL' young people.

get it in perspective guys. they just got pissed ok? (and they never held themselves up as role models by the way, so why should we?)

I agree with the sentiments of the original post of the original post but would argue that the services would prefer more worthwhile work.

This would not apply to the Services in Hornchurch where the residents are MODEL citizens

I like this thread because the original post was lighthearted p*sstaking. Commonly known as having fun. I wasn't offended or hurt by it. I think people who are that easily offended probably didn't watch BB3 anyway.

You are definitely correct in that assessment - i know for a fact that the emergency services would prefer not to be a glorified taxi service for the drunken yobs that grace our streets.

The verbal and physical abuse that they suffer from these people on a regular basis is shameful.

Obviously here I am not referring to Jonny and Kate - they have provided us with some amusement - i was just provoking discussion in my original post - but was attempting to make a relevant point - even though i will admit to being slightly OTT with regard to using J and K as examples.

I am sure there are model citizens all over the country who do go out and get plastered but try not to be complete prats.

If anyone here thinks it's such a great "laugh" working in front line services I suggest they contact me and I will let them come and work front line in the NHS.

Get a life! (please) it is no Joke and you get abuse for no reason apart from the abuser being Drunk, Drugged or not in control of their mind or just plain rudeness (bad up bringing). the wages are crap we all do it for love and the hope that someone will appreciate the services (Maybe its wishful thinking.............................)

Agreed!
And you would think that the maternity unit would be full of appreciative clients.
98%, are but you wouldn't credit the amount of abuse, drunkeness, druggedness and rudeness we are on the receiving end of!!!!! So I dread to think what it is like over in A&E.

My unit is directly opposite the entrance to our A&E and it can be quite entertaining to look across at the shenanigans going on there

I am genuinely sorry if my post offended you - I did not mean to poke fun at the emergency services or those working in them. My reply was rather 'unthinking' and insensitive - I guess, though this is no justification, this is an example of one being sometimes carried away by the spirit of some of these threads.
Apologies.
