There are currently 2 in the running for the purchase of homechoice.

BT and Sky, this is from the financial times who I am sure dont make things up, unlike other news papers. The going rate is about 200 million so get bidding! personally I hate both BT and Sky and beleive it or not I cancelled my sky subscription and BT phone line as I wanted an independent supplier, now it looks like they have me back (GRRRRR)

The FT are by no means any more reliable at guessing who is going to takeover who than most other papers - they were adament that there were only 3 companies in the running to buy the company I work for...and only one of them was....and they weren't the ones who took us over in the end. It might be contacts they have, it might be someone on the inside, or it might be an educated guess!

it would have to go for much more than 200 mill as that was the cost price intialy witout all the ongoing finance

Probably safe to say that all this was an unfounded rumour as something should have happend by now.

I dunno Peter - these things tend to rumble on for a while before things surface. With my company, the story broke in the national press in Feb and then it wasn't until May that it was announced that we were being sold, and who the winning bidder was. Quite possible it will therefore be a little while before we hear any more.

This week's Broadcast magazine reports that VideoNetworks are looking for new "suitors" for HomeChoice, having struggled to raised the £100m it needed for its national rollout... seems like this one could run for a while yet!

Interesting article, especially this quote:

"Sky already own around 4% of the company"
