Well MobiTV on '3' offers (for some Nokia handsets) GMTV, ITN News*, Smash Hits, The Weather Channel, Kerrang, Kiss*, Bravo*, Cartoon Network*, CNN*, Bloomberg, Fashion TV, LivingTV, Shorts TV*, iFilm, ToonWorld, Maxx Sports, Comedy Time, Extreme. Those with a * are available for £5 for 31days, or all channels can be had for £10 for 31days.

unfortunately my handset isn't covered ir I'd give it a go.

The other channels, which are really loops updated weekly, available on almost all '3' phones are MTV Shows, Nickolodeon, Paramount and VidZone. Each are £1 for upto 20 connections for upto 20 moniutes each in a 24hour period. Alternatively you can pay £5 per month, but are still restricted to 20 mins per access.

The MobiTV is ok, it stutters a bit sometimes and I can't find a way of keeping the backlight on which is annoying. The max setting on the menu is 60 seconds and in the MobiTV softeware it only allows you to change channel, help and exit

Update: There's a program called torch that I got, the first version didn't leave the backlight on even with leaving it open and loading the moviTV software, but the other version did.

The TV selection isn't great though I'd much rather have sky news / discovery / or any UKTV stuff, I hope they develop it further, at the moment it's not really worth it.

The music chanels are so bad audio quality that they are pointless in my opinion!

On Vodafone you can get:

Sky News, Sports and Factual Pack
Sky News (live), Sky Sports News (live), Discovery Factual; CNN (live), At the Races (live), Bloomberg (live), The History Channel, National Geographic Channel

Sky Music & Entertainment Pack
Sky One, MTV, Cartoon Network, Bravo, Livingtv, Nickelodeon, Sky Movies, Discovery Lifestyle; Paramount Comedy Channel, The Biography Channel.

Variety pack
Fashion TV, Chilli Extreme, Eurosport, UEFA Champions League, and Channel4 and HBO Mobile.

£5 for News pack, £5 for Entertainment pack, £3 for variety pack, or £10 for all three packs.

(I don't work for Vodafone by the way! Just trying to be helpful)

"If you only use a TV set powered by its own internal batteries, you do not need a separate TV Licence".

the quote above is from the tv licence website it says you dont need a licence

i have put it on because there are differing views in this thread

I must of been living in a bubble for the past few months and didnt know much about this mobile TV stuff. my question is on vodafone.. do you watch as it is happening? as if you where at home watching from a digibox or is it pre selected programmes from that stations programmes- i.e. similar to Telewests teleport?

I think what you're asking is if it is live or clips? well if it is that it is live, I think lol it say the news channels are.

Sky channels are live.

But the Movies channel is purely like a preview sort of affair.

Yes, one of the first things I did when I got this Three phone was send a text to their 'comments about TV' number saying that I'd like a few live channels - especially a live news channel. There's only so far you can go with looped Nickelodeon shows (watching The Angry Beavers was very nice, but I'm not sure whether I want to do it on the bus five days a week!).

The other annoying bug for me is that I can't get Mobi TV with my Motorola.

The ITN news bulletins are nice though. Generally, I'm not massively impressed by the way Three organise their services - it's generally confusing.. I want to give them money, they won't let me!

the sky movies channel is just trailers and previews so not really any good, the sky sports news is class, and so is the cricket coverage they had in the winter. I tried the orange mobile tv was not impressed. mobile tv bravo is a dissapointment too.. voda had planned to have a simpsons channel but pulled the plug
