The public voted for Kate (primarily becuase she didn't whinge or bitch, and had a positive attitude to the BB experience).

The Media (with some exceptions) backed Jade (falsely claiming her to be the favourite when she wasn't, for example; a classic piece of Media spin).

Having decided that they wanted Jade to win, and angered that the public didn't do as it was told (and the likes of the Sun believe you should obey their commands), they then offered Jade lots of money and declared her "the real winner" (just as they did with Helen last year, remember?).

The real Winner is the one the PUBLIC vote for, not the one a bunch of pony-tailed Media sophists back.

The public, by voting for Kate, has shown that it can still think independently, and that the Media is not as powerful as it wants to be.

While you're on a roll ... the obvious next question for me is:

"Why did 'the media' want Jade to be the real winner".

Probably to be contraversial - Jade was not the obvious choice and already had a great deal of negative press coverage. The media enjoys making people's popularity surge and plummet. It shifts papers.

I'm DAMN sure it's to shift papers!!! I guess this means that the papers figured and still do figure that Jade is more likely to shift papers than Kate ... which also suggests that they believe that more people want to read about Jade than Kate ... and so they must think that Jade is more interesting than Kate.

I think that inside the house I would agree with that position (I think that Jade was involved in more of the dramatic incidents in the house than Kate and her relationships with other housemates were more 'interesting'). I wonder how long it'll be until we've gone over everything that happened in the house and their paper-shifting potential is more closely linked to what they have to offer outside the context of BB3?

Jade doesn't seem to be lacking ANY self - respect since she left the house. She always looks smartly dressed and laughs all the negative comments off. I dislike posh and atomic kitten but it is the derogatory comments that make your posts smack of sour grapes.

It may be greedy, but I put my hands up!! If I was in her position I would milk it for all that it's worth! I think that we'll have to agree to disagree here, I just like to think that before I say something about somebody I'd put myself in their shoes. She's had a crap deal in life and now she's getting some karma back.

I find it quite funny that people are arguing about who is going to "make it" afterwards. The truth is we won't hear of any of the BB3 housemates in a few months.

I think Jade is quite intelligent and is milking it for all it's worth while the going's good. Good luck to her. If she invests that 500 grand in property she'll never have to do a day's work in her life.

If Kate thinks she can go down the Brian route and not sell her story so that she gets permanent offers of work, I think she is sadly deluded. She is just a normal nice girl with nothing outstanding, she just hasn't made the impact that Brian did a year ago. Brian was an extraordinary personality, they don't come along every year. He succeeded in spite of the BB label rather than because of it.

If I was giving Kate advice I'd tell her to use any money she earns to go to drama school as she has always wanted. She doesn't have to worry about being a burden on her parents any more with 70 grand under her belt.

I personally don't think Jade is as stupid as people make out, look at the money she is raking in, but she has lost an opportunity to have been remember for something other than being the backstabbing, stupid one of BB3

Backstabbing and stupidness are admirable qulities now it seems. The jade bandwaggon has taken all the bad things she's done and made it poistive for her. And yet Adelle was turned into a hate figure and is still hated for doing much less.
Jade is the same person. It is we, as a society, that have changed our view of her. That is the power of the media and the need to belong to the majority...........
