I have been talking to a few friends of mine, who are very good feed hunters and they tell me that freq 11554 V 40000 8/9 on 27.5w is being used for HD testing. The channels include:

Discovery HD, ESPN HD, ABC HD, & NBC HD.

They are currently broadcasting FTA, but i dont know anyone with a receiver that can test this out, they are using the new DVB-S2 standard. On most frequencies on 27.5w it is dual beam, americans can receive the Horizontal beam on channels we see the Verticle beam, and vice versa.

I have had a look at this frequency and although there is a very strong signal present I cannot get any lock. Other people have also not been able to get a lock.

to get the lock you need a new DVB-S2 suitable receiver or pc-card

@hdmad: what are your friends using to get those channels?
new Humax PR-HD1000 or Pace DS810
new KNC ONE DVB-S2 Plus?
something else I don't know?

Hi there!
Do you have any idea if they broadcast in MPEG2 or H264 (MPEG4)?
I'll try it with Humax ASAP.

Sat-Man could you do us a favor and answer my 2nd question about the standard def content on these feeds.

Im really intrested at something that airs 4pm GMT 11am EST The Price Is Right , still I cant wait for the new DVB-S2 to appear and finally see how much they gonna be.

sat-man is the Pace DS810 a proper satellite receiver i.e.
does it accept the full range of symbol rates and FECs and
can it handle MPEG2 4.2.2 transmissions
or is it a crippled animal like the Sky digibox??

it's a real and proper receiver, accepting full range of SR, moving a dish with disecq 1.2 protocol, with NagraAladin embedded for Premiere but also 1 slot Common Interface and, of course, HDTV, DVB-S2, mpeg2 and mpeg4 suitable (but no 4:2:2: I asked Pace and they told me they don't want to implement the 4:2:2 format, they consider it "professional"...)
of course, nothin' to do with a dodgybox...

Pace told me they think it can handle MPEG2 4:2:2 but could not confirm it and did not have any way of testing it.

Well, that's good news. Usually boxes from Pace have been so called crappy-boxes. Last time I used Pace was 1996, couldn't do anything with it and so changed to Nokia
