Get ready everyone! She's captured the hearts of the nation with her tears, laughter, singing and verrucas in the BIG BROTHER house and this week everyone's favourite blonde JADE GOODY joins us live in the SMTV Live studio! And the BIG BROTHER fever doesn't end there! We've got BB3's Golden Girl KATE LAWLER live in the studio this Saturday too! Hmmm ... this is on ITV1 right?

The chances of me watching ITV1 unless it's the footie or a Grand Prix ... not high

Could be a BITCHFIGHT!

My money's on kickboxer Kate, Jade loks to be carrying too much weight and could be too slow for her.

Still the first female winner thing going on. Surely Kate has done something in her own right that's meritous. Craig never got the "First Male Winner of Big Brother" and Brian never got "First Gay winner of Big Brother"......

Jade being on isn't such a big deal anyway - They have anyone. they've had Darius twice this month and some girl who got kicked out of the Irish Popstars fo rbeing too young. And Buffy's dead mum. Any fash in the pan celeb can get on.....

Kate has done what many considered impossible. Many people believed (Sophie, Sunita, and Alison included) that a woman would never win Big Brother.

Indeed, the Editor of Heat Magazine stated on BBLB several weeks ago that Kate had no chance of Winning.
Most BB Voters are Female, and thus tend to be very biased towards the men (male HM's tend to escape criticism), this is why only 2 women (Helen and Kate) have survived Eviction against a Male in the past 2 years.

Consider that Kate is attractive and flirtatious, two qualities that may well have turned the mostly Female audience against her.
In the past men have been allowed to be attractive/ flirtatious, while female's have been castigated for it (Mel from BB1).

The odds are stacked against the women, and very, very much in favour of the men; I think there have only been 1 or 2 other female winners in BB worldwide.

IT IS an achievement, I would say more so than Craig and Brian, who both won by default.

And you were doing so well ...

1) Impossible??? Shurely show mistake ... even if the odds were 20-1 that's nothing like impossible

2) Editor of Heat magazine - obviously someone whose opinion we should all value!

3) Won by default ... did I miss the bit where everyone else threw in the towel and said "Let Brian win!" ?????

She won ... great ... just don't make her out to be the next Emmeline Pankhurst

Does this mean we'll get to hear Kate's Davina impression AGAIN??
*shudders*
Watch out, SMTV presenters - this is Kate's chance to audition for your jobs.

Brian V Jade in the 'Big Brain' thingy - no offence, but as they don't have a brain between them, this should be hysterical. (not being nasty, I like them).

I believe a woman has still got a chance to win BB. We got a drunk this year. I really hate this sexist thing. She was voted in as a cop out to give it a woman. I now wish they had given it to Jade. She has all the traits of a REAL WOMAN.

Dean and Elizabeth pretty much threw in the towell and allowed Brian to win, the two of them clearly gave up.
Brian won because he was easily the most visible and entertaining HM, it was a foregone conclusion, really, as he had no serious competition.

Craig had the "my friend/family member is ill" card, and won largely on that basis (the Nasty Nick thing helped as well), as well as tabloid support.

Kate faced tough competition, and BB was undoubtedly much tougher this year. Ironically, Spencer's eviction was the best thing that happened to her; it forced her to stand on her own two feet. The lesson to women is not to attach themselves to men.

(BTW: It's notable that the so-called "Alpha-Male's"; Spencer, Sandy, Jonny, and Tim, were the first to crack under the psychological pressure. Further proof of the obsolescence of the Alpha Male, increasingly irrelevant in modern society).

Well put!!!

Brian and Craig did not win by defult!!! They were popular from the beginning. People loved them (espeically Brian) as they were honest, genuine people who were not playing to the cameras!!!!

Before you say it, yes I know Brian did occasionally go a bit OTT but not all the time, and not every single day!!! Brian had his down moments, and his fair share of arguments, and always said what was bothering him even if it risked winning, not like Jonny & Kate who hardly ever spoke out, except when drunk. Brian had many arguments (not unlike Alex) whilst sober.

Brian NEVER thought he would get to the final let alone win, not like Kate "When you(Jonny) and me win we will share the prize money!" Lawler!!

Kates winning is not what I call an achievement. She had a 1/14 chance of winning! No-one harped on about Craig being the very 1st winner, or Brian being first Gay winner, so why is everyone making such a big deal about Kate being the 1st female winner???? Isn't that sexist????? To want one sex to win over the other?????

Surly the person who should've won should've been the person who was the most honest, genuine, and entertaining to watch??? Kate and Jonny bored me to tears at times, even when they were trying to be funny! At least Jade and Alex were funny even when they weren't even being funny (sometimes yes I was laughing at them, but still at least they made me laugh!!!)

The final night in the house was a defining moment for me. There was Alex and Jade slow dancing and they couldn't stop giggling. They were great to watch! Very funny. She was flirting with him so much, and Alex was so lovely to her, saying he liked her and would get her number. It was great to watch!! So glad I have E4 so I could switch view to watch them, otherwise I would've been stuck with the "Terrible two!"

Jonny & Kate were going nuts, doing that stupid one legged dance, going OTT, leaping about, trying to do Dirty Dancing, throwing each other about! They may as well have started shouting "Look at me!" at the cameras!!! It was so bloody obvious

But, nothing can change the winner and I do wish her well for the future (so long as it doesn't involve being on my TV!) and I'm glad she won over Jonny, or I would've been FURIOUS!!!

Before you say it, yes I'm an upset Alex fan, but why is that such a bad thing?? Why does that always mean my views are invalid??? Why do people always say that it's a rant of a sad Alex fan???? People are always upset and angry when the person they support loses, especially if its to people you can't stand!!! That just makes it worse!!!

Give me a break!! How would you have felt if your precious Kate or Jonny had lost??? Don't say you would be fine, because that is not right!!! You would be as mad as me!!!! You would've been shouting at me if Alex had won, so please let us rant and rave! We will go away and calm down soon!!! I promise!!!

Jade BITCHES, which is in my opinion the worst female trait, and something that women should learn to stop doing.
Jade is incapable of speaking rationally or without an agenda.

Jade drank lots, too, everyone did. Kate's drinking had more to do with being bored (no magazines, books, television, or any stimulation).

Surely it is sexist the way that Craig was allowed to flirt with the women while Mel was crucified for similar behaviour? Kate's win may signify that women HM's may have the same freedom as male HM's.

From what I saw, Kate spent the entire series either wrapped around the nearest man or flat on her back, drunk.

Craig was not popular from the start, the Nasty Nick/Child-with-illness thing made him popular. Dean was assumed to be the favourite intially because of his Alpha Male status, but Dean, like most Alpha Male's, was boring. Craig was a tedious Alpha Male, in my view.

Brian had (and I will be flamed for this), the advantage of being Gay. He was able to bitch at Josh with impunity because much of the media feared that to criticise Brian would appear Homophobic. Brian also played to the camera, arguably more than all BB3 contestants put together.

Alex has whinged, a trait which the British have always detested, and the skewed perception of his "maleness" meant he was unable to capitalise on the Female or Gay vote.

I do agree that Jonny and Kate sometimes played up too much. It would have been interesting how Kate would have developed had Sunita stayed (the latter being a "balancing influence").
Kate became too attached to Jonny, yes, but that was because she lost her other allies (Sunita, Alison, Sophie), so there wasn't a person who balanced her and calmed her.

What else is there to do in the BB House other than flirt and drink? Flirtation aleviates boredom. Kate's flirtation looked to me like fun, casual and nothing more. The men manipulate their own inflated ego's; it's their problem, not Kate's.
Funny, because Alex spent the entire series either wrapped around a woman, drunk, or whingeing like a girl (men should not whinge).

Who was in the tub with THREE women? ALEX!
According to your argument, that makes him a slapper, but then, men who flirt are studs, aren't they?

Para 1: It's a trait found in men as well as women
Para2: Other HMs were bored too, not an excuse.
Para3: Thought they all had the same freedom in the house.

As far as I can remember, there was very little press coverage last year about the fact that Brian was the first, and as far as I know the only gay winner of Big Brother anywhere in the world. It's a surprise, therefore, that there was so much hype about how a woman must win this year to even the balance, when there have been other female winners in other countries, proving that it's not impossible. Surely Brian winning was more of an achievement than Kate? Yet we just judged the contestants on their personalities and their sexes and sexualities were irrelevant, as they should be, unlike this year when the 'vote for a woman!' campaign seemed to be more important than 'vote for your favourite!'
All the winners so far have been white- next year I can imagine the media deciding that we must have a winner from an ethnic minority, if this year is anything to go by. It's just getting a bit sad when we're voting for people because of what they are, rather than who they are.

I agree about Sunita (she was my favourite at the start). I think that if she'd have stuck it out for the first couple of weeks, she'd have been great in the house.
I also think that we wouldn't have seen quite so much of the bitching. She was very upfront (telling Jade on the second night that she should LISTEN!) and I think she was mature enough to have brought it all out in the open (a house meeting? Why weren't there any of those this year?) and sorted it out.
Its a shame that she found the first week so uncomfortable, although I can totally understand why (I would have too). All they did for the first two weeks was talk about who fancies who and play sexual positions games! She had nobody to talk to.
Oh, and who were the worse offenders? Adele was obsessed with who was the "fittest" lad, Alex implied that he would nominate her because "she just doesn't join in" and PJ was constantly asking her why she didn't have a boyfriend (I wouldn't have told him either Sunita )
The Alex of week 2 onwards and Sunita would've got on like a house on fire. She should have stayed.

To be fair to Kate, she said the above when they were the only 2 left!!.
So one of them had to win!.

However Jonny did say to Kate when there were 4 left that its 'me and you' (To kate) as the last 2.
