Philips Recordable
I see they have been advertising the recordable DVD by Philips. I have been waiting on this technology before venturing into the world of dvd.
Queston - will the 'format' of the Philips recordable dvd remain current? ie. will it go the way of Betamax and Video2000? Or will dvds I record be playable on machines in 15 years time? have the manufacturers agreed on a standard does anyone know? |

No one can answer this question at the moment because quite simply no one knows.
There have been plenty of discussions on here if you run a few searches that should give you plenty of info.

Who cares? You'll be living a different life in 15 years time, and all the DVDs that you own now will be in a box in the garage, replaced by something better and more in tune with your lifestyle 15 years hence.
Witness the box of old cassettes, LPs and Betamax tapes that used to clutter up my last two houses. |
