Hi

Does anyone know how the 5.1 dolby sound will be output from the HD box?

I read that the HDMI connector will carry the picture and sound to the TV but my TV does not have 5.1 sound!

I have a home cinema system with an Optical in connector. Presumably I will still be able to use this?

Cheers

Just use the Sky HD box optical output to your AV system and turn the TV's sound down.

Yep. DD5.1 is standard with HDTV, so you will have all that surround goodness right out of the box.

In fact, the way Im looking at it, SkyHD upgrades for Sky+ users should be as simple as swapping the box out and connecting your HDTV to the SkyHD STB via DVI, HDMI or Component. It should be simple.

The hardest thing will be to rebuild all your series-linked recordings. Best write them down before powering down the old Sky+ box

Yeah, thats pretty much the thing to do, and of course make the time to watch all your remaining recordings. Basically the two main things as if you were going to upgrade the hard disk.

Shouldn't be assuming you already have at least two LNB feeds from your dish already.
