Chantelle has def been created by Endemol as a money making act IMO.

Her 'little girl lost' routine -v- 'stripper' routine transcends the boundary between peadophilia and the sex industry also IMO

The single sounds shite but then when I was 10 years old I spend all my money on Toyah records.

I'll buy it for the novelty factor. I think everyone realises that each other is saying they won't buy it because they don't want to look stupid.

I definitely wont be buying it myself but little A in my class has been singing 'I want it all, I want it right now' all day today, whilst swaying her hips in a rather alarming manner for a 4 year old!

Perhaps that's the target audience?

You must be joking... I'm buying Pete's single.
He's as brilliant now as he was in the 80's.

nothing would make me buy it its this manufactured rubbish which is making the british music industry the joke of the music world - in the USA we are a laughing stock with the crap artisits we have that cannot perform live or have no talent whatsoever.

I feel for the talented kids out there who cant get record deals - and a talentless bimp like chantelle will probably get a no 1 - shakes head in despair

I totally agree. What I'd love is if Chico and Kandyfloss were released on the same day and Kandyfloss outsold him by a long way. That'd wipe the smug self serving smile off his loathsome face. We all know they're both likely to be one hit wonders, now if Chantelle beat Chico then he'd hardly even be that

For the record I may buy Kandyfloss' Single (also toying with the idea of buying Dead or Alive and Ordinary Boys, I will never stoop so low as to buy a GLC record though. Poor Maggot, he was the only "musician" in there not to get a re-release out of it!)

I will buy the single because it is Mozart's 250th anniversary and I think the song defines our cultural progress over the last two and half centuries.

They're a TV company, not a record label. What do they gain exactly? From what we gather, it's all the other leeches in the industry who want to sign up Chantelle for a record. Zero to do with Endemol.”

That depends on her contract with Endemol. For instance, ALL final ten acts in Pop Idol had to sign 10% (I think) of their earnings to 19 Management, whatever management company they ended up with. A contract which it took Will Young a long time to get out of.

Now, I know that 19 management is a different company, but bearing in mind the amount of money made by other Big Brother contestants, it's entirely possible that Endemol have a similar clause in the contract for BB contestants.

Apart from the possibility of Royalties (and that is speculation), what have Endemol got to gain? Well, publicity for one thing.

Quote:
“It's just the same as the question of what do they gain if Chantelle wins? I don't see what the motive is from engineering her win, apart from a smug feeling that they "pwn3d" the celebs. Is that worth fixing a TV show for? Somehow I think not.”

I have to admit, I don't know what they would have to gain from her winning. Apart from the fact the public seemed to like her, and voted for her in their millions

As for whether I will buy the single of not. I think not.
