Kate in "The Express"

I've just read Kate's interview in the Express and have to say that she comes across really well, very much as the same person she was in the house, an all round nice person.
The interviewer obviously warmed to her, its all round a good article and by far the least bitchy of all of the other interviews to date.

I've also read it and I'm afraid I have to disagree. Kate has so little to say, boring and dull as always. The little she does have to say is not really fresh material - she is repeating herself endlessly.
As for the interviewer warming to Kate - well in this kind of 'soft' interview that is what they are paid to do. Alex's interviewer in last weeks Sunday Express was even warmer.

Just because she doesn't want to slag off all of the other HMs and would prefer to hear/see what the others have said before she comments doesn't make her boring or dull.
Is Alex interesting when he keeps saying his "don't pee in the shower" catchphrase or "Kate was a flirt" comments? Is Jade interseting with her "I hate Kate" crusade and endless "chipstick" comment?
No.
Might make for a bit more of a juicy article, but it doesn't make them interesting. What is Kate supposed to do? Make things up?

You can be lively, amusing and entertaining without slagging people off. Kate IS bland on her own, she needs a partner to spark off. Kate & Jonny should have both won BB as a team effort. I don't like either of them but that would have been fairer.

Now that is a refreshing point of view ! Having thought about it I totally agree. By the time Jonny & Kate left the House their personalities were interchangeable. Perhaps, just perhaps mind, that as a double- act they would have been worth a little bit more.

Am I the only one that thinks Kate and Jonny aren't going to interact in real life? I don't deny that she likes Jonny and yes she has fun with him, but Kate has never struck me as the over-active, dolly girl she was when she hung out with him, which was why I found her behaviour less than appealing in the last weeks of BB3. Their 'real' personalities don't seem to be that similar and the reason they seemed so close in the house was because Kate needed another leg to stand on. I can't begin to count the number of times she said, 'you're the only one I trust in here', especially after PJ's eviction.

To be honest, Alison and Spencer know more about Kate than Jonny does. It was very much a 'we-have-to-stick-together-against-everyone-else-that nominated-Jonny' thing and them trying to force a closer friendship made them appear very artificial.

Just a thought.

Now there's an idea!!
Kate does appear to be a little overawed at all of the attention she's been getting, on TV she comes across as being quite shy and doesn't quite know what to do (bless!). I don't think that makes her boring, its quite endearing really. Maybe if she did have one of the others that she actually liked (Jonny or Alison) along with her for some of these guest appearances, she would feel more comfortable.

The point I was making was that I don't think any of the HMs have come across as particularly "interesting" so to speak, but Jade is getting more column inches because she stirs things up by being bitchy towards the others....well, towards Kate really.
I respect Kate for not wanting to get into a slagging match.

I think the Kate we saw in the house was the real Kate, all of her comments and actions since she came out prove that.

I think Kate comes across very well, she's clearly trying to keep her feet on the ground, which is very difficult in the media spotlight; it's important that her family and friends remind her of who she is, not what the media thinks she is.

There's no doubt that the person we saw in the BB House was the real Kate. She is genuinely likeable, and has a positive attitude, that's why the public grew to like her.
I really do think she has the potential to go far, if she paces herself and doesn't turn into a prima donna.

Brian benefited from his relationships with Dean and Liz, precisely because they were so different to him.
Bare in mind that she spent much of her time in the BB House in a hostile environment, she lost allies and friends (Alison, Spencer, Sophie), and thus her bond with Jonny became too close and too comfortable.
She did not have an ally who counter-balanced her personality.
I think that Sunita, had she stayed, would have balanced Kate perfectly.

I don't find her boring, indeed, she is many ways one of the most interesting characters to enter the BB House. Bitching and slagging people off is not interesting to me as it clearly is to many other people.

Now she is out they can spend time with her to make sure the wording of her interviews comes across in such a way to advance her image etc.

Read between the line and the real Kate is still there - Just hidden behind the ghost writing of the reporter!
