I don't understand why some people think Pete is intelligent.

Galloway described him as a mix of Dorothy Parker/Oscar Wilde.

HUH?????

All i can see is a bloke who gets his kicks out of causing trouble.....a bloke who abhors lying,to the extent of calling Preston vile and sneaky, yet gives Traci (who I believe is anti-fur) a fur collar to wear and tells her it's fake. Then boasts about it to Dennis.

A bloke who tore Traci apart in the most digusting manner just for a laugh because he knew she wouldn't fight back.

Calls Chantelle stupid and a child with the mind of a nine year old when even he must realise that she's been the most level headed of everyone there.

Bitching behind peoples backs and only attacking the ones you perceive to be weaker is not a sign of intelligence.

Pathetic and moronic....(IMO of course).

He has an extensive vocabulary which demonstrates his superior authority over the english language...nobody had heard of repugnant before Pete went into the house...he is also lightning fast when it comes to arguments...he made mincemeat of Traci...

His repertoire of half remembered cliches is extraordinary, as is his schoolgirl level wit.

Never seems to argue with men who would in all likelihood reduce him to tears with a few choice words.

I love saying "repugnant" now! He does have a vocabulary that would put the Dawson's Creek teens to shame...

I'd certainly heard of repugnant, and it's how I'd describe Pete.

George Galloway has now described him as a combination of Dorothy Parker and Oscar Wilde to Davina, to Dermot, to Richard & Judy, to Russell, to someone on the radio, and to his constituents as he met them this morning. The description is frankly getting a little bit thin. GG means that he combines their genius, but all he does is quote from each of them.

Pete is intelligent and has a fairly good vocabulary but he's no genius.

Huh? 'Repugnant' is now the sign of having a large vocabulary?

Surely people had heard the word 'repugnant' before??? Blimey!!!

Pete is certainly witty but don't know if i'd class him as highly intelligent. Would be interested to know what his general knowledge etc was like. We haven't got to know him at all really as all he seems to do is bitch about everyone! Shame.

In comparison to the average Big Brother Housemate - Pete is like a cross between Dorothy Parker and Oscar Wilde.

There, it makes a bit more sense now.

I'm thinking Anthony Hutton.

Of course, George might have been referring to his dress sense.

he looked scared and stupid when the maggot went to fetch his stolen fags from dennis, then even more uncomfortable when the mighty maggot wanted to clear the air and talk about his issues.

I f***ing loved it when BB called his bluff about wanting to leave the house.

He was SQUIRMING!

and the fake tears after the boyfriend/missus video message....urgh!

Weak, pathetic attention-seeker...just like Jodie Marsh strangely enough, and everyone knows what he thinks of her.

Apparently, if another person brings out really strong negative emotions in you, it's often because they sub-consciously remind you or yourself...

When they look at Pete it's a case of "by comparison" ?

He is quick witted with an answer to everything but not necessarily the right answer. He has no empathy, he enjoys hurting people and making them feel small. His bravado is to cover up his own inadequacies.

This does not equate with intelligence.

He is indeed repugnant.

He's definitely intelligent, extremely so. You seem to be confusing intelligent with likeable or admirable. I just watched a few minutes ago and he was yet again having to explain to the depressingly thick Chantelle what 'cup runneth over' meant and where it came from. He did it sweetly with grace, not the least patronising.

We have seen absolutely no evidence of cleverness or wit from this creature. Unremittingly spiteful, it saves and recycles the catalogue of insults that have been directed its way during its grotesue and dysfunctional existence.

Compliments from the likes of the sycophant George Gonnaway are nothing more than the same crap the wee man glibly trots out when brown nosing the likes of Saddam and his unlamented offsping Uday.

Didn't Pete take George with him in to the DR so as he could speak on his behalf about the whereabouts of 'the coat'? He didn't seem to have a large vocabulary then.

Perhaps he felt it would be going a bit too far to actually ask for financial compensation in his own voice. So he let George do that bit.

She has actually found the perfect way to respond to what some posters perceive as quick-wittedness.

Keep pretending you dont understand the idiot. It gets terribly wound up if it thinks noone is appreciating its "cleverness and wit".

She wasn't trying to wind anyone up. She is just not very intelligent and poorly educated.
