Fair enough, I can see why the public could get emotive about Barrymore and Galloway for various reasons, but why are people SO worked up about the others???

I've enjoyed watching the show, but haven't warmed to any of them. I've had angry feelings towards Galloway in particular but the rest of them are no big deal.

People seem to take this programme SO seriously - isn't it supposed to be a bit of fun and a people-watching experience.

The amount of really emotional stuff about people we don't know is a bit weird to me.

People do become emotionally involved, I know I do. When you feel strongly about something like this then you do tend to go overboard with your opinions.

Like I do...

I don't think most people take it seriously - just the kind of slightly obsessive weirdos who actually watch the live feed.

I've been on this forum a long time and it has always been packed with loonies.

It's one of those really stupid things. I have been feeling strongly about the events on this show and posting accordingly, but by Sunday I'll have totally forgotten about them all and wonder why I have been wasting my time when there are more important things to do.

However, the indignation is enjoyable while it lasts!!

I was just surprised about the amount of 'we hate chantelle' type of posts. She's just a fairly normal person isn't she? What's the big deal if her, Preston, Traci, Maggot etc win or don't win? Why would any of those four stir up such love or hatred?? Am I missing something???

I don't think anyone on here acrually likes any housemates. Or I haven't seen anything positive posted since, ooh, about 2002.

I've asked this before but didn't get much of a response but am really interested in the answer so please fill this void in my life:

Were previous series of the celeb version as bitchy and negative as this one and did people warm to previous housemates??

Our opinions changed when the show changed. It is more focused on the bitching element of it now.

completely agree.
I can understand people being pissed off about her getting more air time but she doesnt deserve to be hated. She hasnt bullied anyone in there like certain other housemates have. I think its just people being bitter because the yknow she is going to win and not their favourite

We are totally manipulated by the media in this country. If they say someone is bad, people believe it. If they say someone is good, people believe it.

BB creates storylines in the programme, as if it is a soap opera, but with real people. These storylines may just be the result of clever editing, but they get people really involved and we think the housemates are good or bad, boring or entertaining, depending on how BB edits them.

And we give them money for the privilege of manipulating us!

But why does it matter so much if someone's favourite doesn't win an entertainment programme. Do these people need to get out more??? Just an idea???

That's true you know.
I am interested in the HM's ONLY while they are in the house.
After that, I don't care, but do get mildly annoyed that Jade is still in the media.

The same could be said about Football, and all sports. Why would a football supporter get so wound-up that they would physically attack another human being, just for supporting a diiferent team. Its' weird.

People in general like to show their support for their favourite, and there's nothing wrong with that. When people start taking things seriously, then it does start to get pathetic.

Ive seen people on here actually getting offended and start attacking other users because they dislike their favourite housemate. Its not a personal insult if someone doesnt like somthing you like, so why do some take it as one. It's like attacking someone for disliking marmite because you love it.

Most people will have forgotten it in a couple of weeks.

It will just be a few of the hardcore left. The type that still scan the papers for any stories about Makosi so they can hate her some more.

I have absolutely no idea.

The internet seems to be a breeding ground for disaffected individuals who I guess were bullied at a young age and take out thier frustrations on RTV characters.

Maybe that's why a persons looks and the term 'Bully' are bandied about continually along with words like 'hate' and 'loathe'

I agree with the original thread. I myself have got a bit wound up in the past over things but not anymore. I can't really explain why I did in the first place, probably out of boredom getting too involved with topics. Also, it drives me nuts when someone is misquoting or misleading FMs about something and it triggers some anger. Trying not to engage to that level anymore...!

On the other hand, I have also been suspended by one of those people who is so trigger happy with the 'alert' button every time someone disagrees with their point of view. I think unless someone says something intimidating to another FM, then all opinions should be aloud to be out there. In a civilised world we can at least agree to disagree.

Why are the posters we want to understand avoiding this thread.......
