@ TV Duniya

I owe you an apology!

All those Channel came up on an FTA scan - in the past they have only come up on an All Channels scan.

I wonder if that is significant?

There's absolutely no reason for a apology.
As we all know these fta gems, can appear and disappear, within hours.
I suppose that's what we love and hate about them.
Are there any rumours circulating,if some of the national or private Belgian channels are planning on going fta, like the Dutch national channels.
Weren't the Dutch national channels supposed to become fta this month?

No, that was a rumour. Their DTT goes FTA (it used to be subscription) because they are rapidly going digital. When satellite went digital the speed of switch-over was incredible. Everywhere you went there were roadside adverts, about every 200 yards, "Get a sat. receiver now or you won't get it"! Many of the regional channels are going FTA but I'm afraid the ones that matter, viz. NED3 and SBS6 - no!

I assume that all these Dutch channels will only show Dutch programming - no subtitled English language films.

Only dutch programming as these are regional channels! Only one that may not be in Dutch may be Frysland Television.

If I recall the Dutch, work the other way,In English with Dutch sub titles, this occured on Astra in the early days circa 1980s, I am sure this still occurs.

Isn't Friesian supposed to be the continental language mostly closely related to English?

It sounds a cross between Danish/Dutch and also a little German. I know a guy who is Dutch and has a first language of Friesian and struggles to speak Dutch even though he is Dutch!!! He lived in a small village which only spoke Friesian there for Dutch wasnt needed! He tried learning dutch but he isnt one for languages

He supports Cambuur leeuwarden and if he goes to any away matches for the team, he needs help when asking for a drink ...ect..
