As they are part of the Canal Digitaal package, I'd be surprised if any of them remain FTA for long.

Methinks you are spending too much time in shops with blacked out windows. Or AS comes to mind.

Oh, I believe alright Bob.

As the great Johnny English once said, "We're both fluent - Unfortunately in different languages."

I'm sure I can handle a Carpet.

was watching as the Dutch channels disappeared this morning, why are there so many logos on channels 1-3? there is the channel logo, then AVRO etc in the corner - why?

is it like having ITV1 in the corner, but each region that makes the programme insisting that their logo is in the other one ie. YTV for Emmerdale Farm and Granada for Coronation Street?

Dutch public tv is split between religious and political groups, sharing time between each of the 3 channels.

Well to me no since I've seen Dutch TV for few years now on and off.

I really do like the concept of sharing time between groups.

I am currently receiving VH1 FTA (Free to air) on my Lidl Silvercrest/Comag Sl 65 Receiver on an 80cms Dish (also Lidl) here in south west Ireland.

Details:

Satellite: Hispasat 1D at 30.0°W; European Beam

Channel Name: VH1
Freq: 11577
Symbol Rate: 27492
Polarity: V
Video PID: 4704
Audio PID: 4705
PCR: 4704
Text: 8191
Sub: 8191
Version: 1084h - C65GB
It is part of the TV Cabo bouquet but is showing Clear FTA.

It is a different VH1 from that which shown on the Sky Digital platform as 28° East. However it seems to be all English with less adverts!

Probably VH1 Europe, which probably shockingly has classic music videos.

That's simply VH1 European. It's in the clear on Hispasat at least since May.

Until 2002 in Europe there was only one version of VH1 for Europe, and it was the one originally launched for the UK in 1994.
And so, they launched VH1 European for all european countries and even the Middle East and Africa.

VH1 European has been replaced by VH1 Polska in Poland in 2005.

Policy on VH1 European is to play one new video followed by one old video, one after another.

Since December 2004, Europe also has its own version of VH1 Classic, without any advert.

VH1 European and VH1 Classic European are produced and broadcast from the MTV HQ in Camden Town (London).

A german version of VH1 has been launched in 1995 and closed in 2001.

In Europe today we have:
- VH1 UK
- VH1 European
- VH1 Polska
- VH1 Classic UK
- VH1 Classic European

SKAI
12524 V 30000 - Looks like it's currently showing an English film with Greek/Bul subs

MAD TV
10956 V 4123 - Looks like the channel from the Nova package on 13e
