We now appear to be Sticky!

Let's try to use this instead of starting new Threads every time we find something interesting (and I have been as guilty as anyone, before some-one points it out)

HBO Sk on 13E used to decrypt on weekends to show promos, and they forgot to encrypt fairly often. I don't know if this is still the case though.

Yeah they are on the steerable beam 2, which isnt meant to be received on a mini dish.

And if your using a SKY Digibox forget it, it cant handle the symbol rate.

Coming in strong on my Zone 2 dish here, so the Minidish is not a deathsentance for S2.

Little update on CBC Canada is proving to be a pain still.

I still have a signal on both, so clearer weather is clearly needed for my sized dish, last night and earlier today was perfect conditions I guess.

Radio Canada the French CBC is alot stronger thats for sure.

Grrr! BBC Prime is encrypted again. But, there's still some stuff to watch on Hotbird. Using my brilliant knowledge of Slavonic languages, I imagine that the programme showing on Slovene TV tonight called "Doktor Martin" might actually be "Doc Martin", especially when we see that igrajo Martin Clunes , Caroline Catz . Interesting that most British programmes are FTA on Slovene TV, but as soon as anything American is on they hit the encrypt button.

There is one thing I didn't appreciate about BBC Prime and that is even when the picture and sound is encrypted, the Teletext is still clear.

Forget the 'please wait' and pressing up and down buttons to read more than a couple of sentences on 'Digital text'.
In this case new technology is not providing a better service.

BBC Prime teletext is on
13E
11131 V
5632
3/4

Try the eastern European services on 5E &16E - plenty of English films (with subtitles). No new blockbusters, but I found Terminator 3 a few nights back

I posted this on the FreeSat forum also, but check out the BBCi stream channels at 28E at the moment. Showing the Winter Olympics on a few streams and BBC2 regular programming on another; great for us outside the UK footprint!

I'm enjoying TCM a great deal - However, I note from the schedules a bit of Sky-itis whereby the Films are repeated fairly often (but not necessarily in the same order!).

For SAT Access
This shows the Swiss digital TV front page with a b/w chap in his weskit and flat cap holding up a bright orange dish.
I just love it!

You can see much the same thing on
http://www.broadcast.ch/homepage/htm...dcast_deut.htm

Beats a certain animal double act !!!

Since reports a few days ago, TV Colombia has got its act together and now appears to be transmitting an adequate PAL Colour signal on Hotbird (12265 V 27500).

It's not the best I've ever seen, but the Zebra standing on it's head effect has gone.

My problem with TCM Spain is that I can't perform timed recordings. You have to manually select the english soundtrack. I recorded 2010 last night, wishing to see it in the letterbox cinemascope format they use, and of course I got Spanish sound.
