So pleased - It's a problem having so many different Box types (not that there is anything wrong with choice, I suppose) trying to translate something that is routine for one's own Receiver into instructions for a different one!
I hate to say it, but at least this problem doesn't exist with Sky Digiboxes as the functions are all the same

If you are having further probs with the Echostar Bob, then have a look at this thread over at satellites.co.uk. I started it specifically to support E3000 users

http://www.satellites.co.uk/php-bin/...ad.php?t=35888 ![]() I'll be joining in over there since I find my box is running software version 400 which has been superceded several times. Trouble is I'm terrified of trying anything drastic in case I hit a major problem and have to tell the lady wife she can't watch La Squadra on RAI3. |

I have upgraded the firmware in the past without losing all the channels, but its always a risk. If you want to try it, DONT do the system reset at the end - that blats your channels lists!
This was in the days of ota upgrades via Hotbird - they ceased a year or so back. It might be different with the file transfer from computer you have to do now. To be honest though - if it dos what you want it to, why risk the aggro?? Put the job onto one side until you have a quiet weekend and can get a couple of hours to sort out problems. Version changes should be available on the echostar-int.com site somewhere. |

PinkTV claim to be "en clair" between 6-8pm on their website, but I don't think they are. The channel is on 12581V 22000 5/6 on Astra 19E. It's also on Hotbird, but I'm unsure of the frequency.

Anyway, thanks again for tonight's effort, and I'll see you over on the other thread. ![]() V1000 for the 3000IP (non-Via) was a bit dodgy! If you have this version of the machine then use V1100 or V901 Beta (Which I used successfully for a long time - but the channel list is way out of date.) I have zipped versions of 901B, 1000, & 1100 for the non-Via machine for anyone who need them - PM me if you need one. John A |

Replaced my 3000IP with a Technomate 5500DAPCI which is both analogue & digital. It has has 36V positioner, noticeably more sensitive tuners, a much faster processor (which means it is better with Cams), is easier to drive and does'nt overheat! (The manual is however pretty crap, as usual!) Also, the remotes are (supposedly) much cheaper to replace! Support is via Myers/Technomate in London, and they might actually be able to repair the machines (although nothing has gone wrong with mine in 18 months). Same problem with channel list updates - there are'nt any! Now obsolete but might be available cheaply on Ebay - currently one available for £100 on a buy-it-now basis. (the 3000IP still sitting in a corner if all else goes wrong!) |

It clearly not UK Nick, because it has no commericals from the UK, its just English Nick shows.

Interesting - Normally my Box displays a Scrambled symbol for transient "FTA" Channels. These are all coming up without - I guess that still doesn't mean they'll stay free, though
