Of course they do...the campest (marco and the homo who won)... or the most effeminate (dan).

if they put in the average homo or hetero off the street the viewing figures would go down.

I dont think it has anything to do with him being homosexual. It is probably because pete, more than anyone else, has continuously pined for his boyfriend. He also got a really bad reception so why shouldnt he get a hug from his boyfriend.

How pathetic to turn something so innocent into a discussion about sexuality.

I would say good on channel 4 for being PC anyway.

How can a man be ridiculously gay?

And if you can't spell you will find that your computer has a useful spellchecker function

It was probably something to do with the fur coat. Mebbe that was part of the deal that George brokered.

'They do love the gay's though'

What a weird stupid comment to make, just because they showed pete hugging his boyfriend doesn't mean they're trying to make a political point or that they're trying to be outrageous, whatever my feelings are of Pete he's been away from the person he loves for weeks and if he wants to give him a hug then why the hell should he not give him a hug, if it was a couple of young lesbians i'm sure some of the guys on here would have been going wahey how sexy, not channel 4 must love the gays for doing that.

'Most Homosexual's seemed to love and vote for Pete'

Well I suppose whoever said that has either done a yougov survey and been round and asked every gay person what they think of Pete Burns to make such a statement, otherwise I would have to conclude that they're speaking absolutely rubbish,

God some people are ignorant

I guess what the OP probably means is that in relation to the national average of gay people, there are always more Gays in the house than there could/should be if using an average figure.

I guess in one way its good - it brings gays to the attention of people who don't normally come into contact with gays and (with a couple of notable exceptions) - possibly make them realise that gays are people too ...

The other way is not so good .... I don't suppose Marco (for example) did the gays any favours ...

I get very tired of the ultra-camp gays the show is keen on. It may be presumptious of me, but I suspect most gay folk aren't too crazy about the constant media portrayal of them as wrist-flicking, innuendo-spouting, girly-screaming "lipgloss bitches". BB5's Dan was a step in the right direction, I think.

Yeah it's cool isn't it. I'm glad to live in a country where people are not discriminated against and allowed to live freely and openly, God can you imagine living in Iran or somewhere!! ... So yes I agree with you

Oh, and I would doubt very much that Preston's girlfriend would have wanted a public reunion!!.

Erm, so?

If it was the other way round, would you be hot footing it to your computer with a cats bum face to start a thread about it?

'C4 loves Straights'.

Of course not, so stop talking crap, pull your head out of your arse and grow up.

I'd have probably thought the same, but it turns out that 16.6% of the UK population is gay (10 year government study released last month), so it's a pretty fair representation. Not sure who the half a person would be though.

Being gay myself, I also agree with the posts about C4 always picking the wackos. I know they have to make good TV, but couldn't they just pop your average gay bloke in there just to balance things out a bit?

Unless you're ridiculously flamboyantly gay - nobody cares.

Its why they pick the outrageous ones all the time.

That was certainly my impression of why Endemol did it.

Plus, I think it would have been a real mistake to get Camille up on stage with Preston.

At best there could have been an awkward hug followed by a Charles & Diana Polo Match style "cheek bumping" kiss. At worse she could have gone up on stage and just slapped him round the face.

Either way, it wouldn't do either of them any favours.

Er, no. That's way too scary.

People like to feel safe in the knowledge that you can spot one a mile off. The thought that gays may be mingling among them (without being indentifiable) makes a lot of people very uncomfortable.

Perhaps they see it a bit like invasion of the body snatchers. - lol

The media prefers the theatrical screaming queen over the more regular bloke who just so happens to fancy other fellas. Judging by BB2 so do the public.

I find the title of this thread very homophobic. It could surely have been worded better. As a gay man I dislike the word "homosexual" as it has negative conoctations.

I definitely do not like Pete Burns either as he sets the gay movement back years and gives a negative portrayal of gay men in general. No one looks like Pete Burns in my town.

I would have prefered to see a more positive portrayal of a gay man in BB who did not feel the need to make himself look like a china doll or resort to plastic surgery.

Plastic surgery in my book is a sure sign that Pete Burns is not happy with himself and has self esteem issues. He should be more proud of his masculinity and not have to resort to that horrid negative "Quintin Crisp" image.

I wouldn't really call Barrymore camp or flamboyant actually.

I'm not joining any gay debate or anything, but surely it was a mistake, commented on by the viewers, to put so few youngish heterosexual guys in there when they had Traci, Faria, Chantelle and Jodie - four attractive youngish heterosexual women (giving Jodie the benefit of the doubt in this instance). If they wanted any sexual fireworks (and don't they always?) there was a limited choice. Hardly surprising that Preston and Chantelle, the youngest housemates, found each other, only to be heavily criticised because he has a girlfriend outside the house.

There's no video of Michael Barymore leaving the house on the official C4 site, but there is of all of the other contestants. Therefore I'm going to assume that this measn something profound!!! We can all look for something that isn't there. If the guy that started this thread is so stupid or warped that he honestly believes there is anything is his own comments, then I feel sorry for him.

To be fair they do not pick mostly average Joe heterosexual housemates either. You do not get in the house by being dull Mr or Ms average. Saying that it is remarkable how many becoame that upon entering the house.
