She doesn't come across like one to me.

I mean, she's a nice person and doesn't wear a tracksuit for a start.

Maybe it's because she only uses 3 words..."oh my ... oh my .... oh my .... oh my .... oh my .... oh my .... oh my ....."

I was waiting for the batteries to run down!

The voice does it for me. Maybe the hopleless nose job and topless shoots and appearances on tv everywhere and the paris hilton lookalike things help!

Exactly what i thought Ross.

Maybe people on this forum don't know the definition of a chav.. too busy curled up in front of the TV screens with nothing else to do.

because she gets her breasts out for Max Power, because she is thick as too short planks. Because she says 'Am I bovvered'

Any more?

Coz we all know that the defintion of a chav is exactly your idea of the stereotype

Because she speaks with an "Essex" accent and is an easy target for people who are maybe a little bit snobbish.

Not a chav by a mile.

She's not the sharpest tool in the box but strikes me as a decent enough girl. I also reckon she's fallen for Preston and her feelings have been lost in the whole "poor Preston's girlfriend" thing. Glad she's won.

She doesn't wear Burberry though.

I always thought a chav was my definition of the stereotype.

I mean, just because someone has blonde hair, sounds a bit thick and is not middle class means they're a chav?

Um, people like that have been around for all eternity and are not chavs.

She's had a tracksuit on most of the time and she's no Olympic athelete. Could have something to do with the hair too

Does she know that it's minus 3c outside? What a stupid outfit to wear, that could be one reason why she's thought of as a chav. Watch out for the goosepimples folks.

endless repetition of Oh My God and other similarly mindless phrases such as it's well good innit - could have something to do with it

OK, you're not a snob. You're just rather ignorant as to what a "chav" actually is and are just chucking the first pop culture insult you can think at in the direction of a housemate you don't like for whatever reason.

Do you seriously think that chavs have only appeared since someone named them then ?

ps, definition of chav:

Chav is a slang term which has been in wide use throughout the United Kingdom since the early 21st Century. It refers to a subcultural stereotype of a person with fashions such as flashy "bling" jewellery and counterfeit designer clothes, an uneducated, impoverished background, a tendency to congregate around places such as fast-food outlets or other shopping areas, and a culture of antisocial behaviour. It is an insult to be called a chav.

Still not too sure what a chav is. In Scotland the nearest thing we have is "neds". She seems too nice to be a ned.

EDIT: ah, didn't see your definition there, big_sister. I guess she fits that description, yes.

I don't see Chantelle as a chav. She is a nice person, plus she didn't wear much chavvy clothes.
