I'm eating my humble pie
Prosaic
27-01-2006
Well, Michael came a very respectable 2nd place.I am eating my own humble pie

Personally I think it's a loss that Chantelle has won. It will please Jodie Marsh & that upsets me as it is

the chav vote must have swayed it. All those stolen pay as you go phones no doubt

46% though is close..hopefully this is the return to our screens thats long overdue

Michael was top of the actual celebs - and i stil lthink he got the loudest cheer of the night

For those who voted for Chantelle. I hope you enjoy her topless photo shoots and appearances at nightclubs with Jodie. Her 15 minutes starts now...

For a man who's been away for years...well done Michael and welcome back

I don't think he got 46%. I think she got 54% of all the votes cast.

Chantelle got 56% of the final vote not the total votes cast

Do you want a cherry on top or maybe some whipped cream.

Michael Barrymore did well to come second and I hope now that he is finally able to move on and give me back what I so want from him, someone whom I used to admire. The people have spoken, they are his kind of people, he has the public approval, good luck to him with his endeavours for the future.

I would have loved to have seen him win but out of the celebs that entered, he did come out last!!!

Well done Michael, cant wait to see you again on my screen!

I think Michael has done incrediblywell considering how he was in the first week. I think he will be OK with coming second. As has been said, he's beaten all the other actual celebs.

Personally now it's finished it really makes little difference who won and who lost in the long term so I don't know why everyone's getting so wound up.

-Michael has done what he wanted to do.
- Chantelle would have had her 15 or more minutes of fame whereever she was placed.
- Preston's band is in the top 10 anyway
-Pete's old hit is being re-released and anyway he claims not to give a f***
-Maggot's band has a higher profile
-Dennis and Traci are famous already and they have an increased UK profile

The only losers are probably George and Jodie, whose images have been very tarnished by the show.

Not sure about Faria, I don't think it'll make much difference to her and nobody seems interested.

It's what you do after the show finishes that counts, and how you maximise the exposure you have been given.

Thought Davina described it as a "landslide"?

That seems a fair assessment - most of them have gained from being on BB, apart from George and Jodie, who at least stand to make a lot of money from the infamy and publicity despite damaged reputations.

Even Rula has been offered a catfood commercial!

I assumed it was 56% of the final six because of the landslide description. 56% of the final two isn't a landslide in my book.

Very good summary, I agree, \pete was my favourite but realised a couple of weeks ago that Chantelle would win.

I'm not gonna eat humble pie. My point all along was that MB has a huge fansbase and the public perception of him is in no way represented by the tabloid coverage of him of the past 5 years.

Humble pie? The only people who should be humble are the people who wrote off the King of family entertainment.
