Chantelle made the shortlist for BB6, as did Orlaith, but Chantelle was the one chosen to be put on CBB4 instead.

Orlaith wasn't a non-celebrity.
She was an obscure celebrity outside of Northern Ireland, but no more obscure than some others who've been in celeb reality shows.

Definately because Chantelle is more likeable. Orliath was just awful could you imagine her in celeb BB . At least Chantelle made it a big light hearted and doesn't ake herself too seriously.

She was a professional model and I think she was well-known enough. She came second in the Miss Northern Ireland; She was Belfast’s Model Of The Year’.
Sure, she was minor as celebs go, but look at some of the other people in Celeb shows. Princess Tamara (who?) Lady Isabella (for being the sister of a lesser TPT). Fran Cosgrove (aka "Natasha's ex"). Others whose names I can't even remember.

Or they decided she was perfect for this and gave her the choice? Don't know but it sounds logical. They had to have someone who looked like they could be in a girl band or a minor actress or similar, someone with a non arrogant, down to earth personality who wouldn't take herself too seriously on being 'annointed' a celeb and someone who wouldn't be overawed too much.
I think Orlaith might have annoyed the other celebs after discovery because she may have acted slightly more as if celeb status was her due? Not sure how she'd have got on with Traci. I may be being unfair because I didn't dislike her. I prefer Chantelle though

Pete Burns would have torn crybaby Orlaith to shreds with his vile tongue and Orlaith would have walked like the coward she was in BB6.
At least Chantelle stood up to freak boy unlike Orlaith who would have cried in the corner and said 'I want to leave'
