C4 have the perfect opportunity to make BB7 the biggest and best series ever. A hell of a lot of people watched CBB4, and a lot of the viewers were older people who have never even watched normal BB in the summer. I think that these viewers will now end up tuning into the summer BB, and may realise that it isn't 'boring tv', like is reported every summer in the broadsheet newspapers. Plus, C4 are doing theri best to avoid competition from ITV's reality shows that will be airing around the same time as BB. I think C4 have the perfect opportunity.

They'll need a great set of housemates, an opening night hook (like the fake celebrity thing ), some great tasks, plenty of surprises and a bit of luck to keep the momentum going.

True, I know people who hated BB but got hooked on this one.

Wasn't the 'hook' from CBB4 (apart from the fake celeb part) who they had in there? as in controversial well known people (with some exceptions) with history that people wanted to see how they got on in the house together. Something you can't get with the 'unknowns' in the summer BB's.

I wouldnt mind seeing a mix of generations like CBB4. Its more interesting to see how they interact with each other

The problem Endemol have is theyre more often than not a victim of their own success. There is usually a great series followed by a mediocre one. i just hope they have enough ideas to make BB7 work though. The balance was good in CBB4 with there being a few nice people who you can like all the way through as well as some eccentric ones to keep atmospheres in the house to stop it from going completely stale(although they did go too far at times with there treatment to others). In BB6 it was pretty much all eccentric ones and no mature nice people.

They need to try something different though.
This CBB was a strange mix of many older characters pitted against a few young uns and some thrity somethings.
That's what you want.

Not kids, but real people with lifetimes of experiences to share with you.

yeah they need to make it a fun show with fun, friendly contestants who can best be described as "average" not the bunch of freaks that have made me tune out after week one of the last two years shows.

BB3 and BB1 had the best casts. Regular people with regular jobs who act like regular people. None of your transvestites, protesting lesbians, over tanned musclemen and hyperactive, high pitched gay guys.

They have a chance to make it great.....but they'll screw it up by puting in a freak show of a cast.

I hope they drop this freak show thing as well soon.
It's getting tired.
Last years HM's were just recycled characters from BB5.
It is time for something new and different.

BB7 can be fresh, new and different! Better age ranges are needed, 2 18-20's, 5 20-30's, 3 30-40's 3 40-60's, NO freaks, genuine entertaining housemates! It could be PERFECT!

they need a big twist, and likeable people

They need to bring back whoever cast the housemates for BB2. That whole series was the definition of perfect casting, if you ask me. Oh, and hows about older housemates who aren't grumpy old sods, complaing about the "kids", like they have no right to be there. Tsk!

3. BBlb on in the evenings
4. another big twist
5. better tasks

Maybe they could stick a real celeb in among the non-celebs. That would be fun.

Also, I've always thought they should have a couple going in. That would change the dynamics in the house quite considerably.

Or perhaps just one man and 11 women or vice versa.

As for "the freak show" - I don't see gay men and transgendered people as freaks, so I don't understand this comment at all.

I thought Mary and Lesley were the most freaky last year...!

I have no doubt Endemol will do thier thing and make a great BB7. I think BB4 was a very unfortunate bump in the road (Well - a huge bump, it almost killed Big Brother in this country) but I doubt they will ever make the same kind of mistakes again.

I think they need a wider generation in the house this time though. Essex Promo Girl's and Male Strippers are all well and good but some slightly older people would be really interesting. One of the best things about this years CBB was the generation gap I think - it created alot of tension but also some nice moments when the gap was bridged so I'd like to see that with this years Summer Big Brother.

We need some likeable people. It's fine to have a few bitches, but I don't want a finale like last year where I genuinely didn't want any of them to win.

BB seems to learn lessons from each preceding series. Sometimes they make mistakes (as I believe they did with the mix of people in BBs 4 and 6); at other times they get it just right (BBs 2 and 5). I suspect this year's BB will be pretty good - I hope they have fewer young people and fewer sad wannabes like Hutton.

I don't think the word freak is meant here with any harm to the gay or transgendered people. Just that the selection of people shoehorned into the house on the recent BB series have a ridiculously disproportionate number of gay/transgendered/complete-loony (Mary)/disruptive lesbian type people compared to society.

In that sense it is in general a freak show. In order for the audience to identify with the housemates and find a "friend" amongst them that the audience can support, BB needs to put a selection of people in there who are properly representative of society. Which means no more than one over the top raving queen and the rest should just be average "man/woman in the street" types that we all meet and work with every day.

I definatly want to see more older contestants in the summer. CBB4 and CBB3 proved that older people, stuck in their ways are often a hell of alot more entertaining than a bunch of 19 year old kids. There has never been an older 40+ woman on normal BB before, why not?

It needs some better twists and more likeable non selfish people.

CBB4 has definatly been the most talked about BB ever, even my mum watched last nights final and she has always hated bb.

It was just extremley boring! Nothing of interest happened and the HM's were all as dull as dishwater.

I'd like to see them have quirky normal people on future BB's rather than just "ordinary" people.

I wonder if they will ever allow someone with a disabilty to go in the house. A physical disability obviously because it would be unfair to make soeone mentally handicapped to go in.

Indeed. BB2 was cast perfectly. It achieved a balance between "normal" and "mundane" (BB4) and "wacky" and "extrovert" (BB5, 6) to a great extent. You wanted entertaining, you could watch Brian. You wanted bitching, you could watch Narinder. You wanted adult conversation, you could watch Dean and Elizabeth...
