I know this is old news, but how the hell can a mother sign her 23 year old daughter to something she wasn't consulted about ? I bet her mother is going to milk the money and fame more then Chantelle.

Thank you!!

Thats what I said earlier - this whole think is pre planned, to me is was clear than she would win from about day 4.

Surely her mum could not do that on her behalf?

I think Mr Clifford is being a bit forward. Chantelle will get lots of offers and may turn him down.

Clifford stated on the Richard and Judy show that he had been approached by Chantelles mother. Not the other way round

Max Clifford is the most influential in the whole industry. BB prob arranged for negotiations.

But Chantelles mother but Chantelles mother cannot appoint someone on Chantelles behalf.

I think Chantelle gave her mother permission before she went into the show to book a PR agent for her and Max Clifford is one of the most high profile ones.

I doubt if Chantelle will object to him although I saw him on TV saying she will only have about 10 minutes of fame.

Either the agrement was made WITH Chantelle before the series started or the agrement doesnt exist.

Did you ever watch that Louis Theroux programme where he went and stayed with stars to see how they lived etc...? He stayed with Max for one of them and on one occasion Max was in the middle of chatting to some up and coming wannabe. That person is now known by the name of Simon Cowell.

So Max maybe a worthwhile investment?

No matter what else you say about Max Clifford he makes alot of money, not only for himself but for his clients.

If the deal is a done thing then expect to see Chantelle everywhere for at least the next 3 months.

Chantelle's mother can't sign a contract on her behalf. I bet either it was arranged before or she has been talking with him and Chantelle still will have the final say and have to do the signing.

I think Simon Cowell was famous long before he met Max Clifford. He has been a agent/producer or something for years to many famous bands.

Even if she does only get 10 minutes of fame, she'll earn 10 times more with Max Clifford. He is undoubtedly the best publicist in the U.K and a notorious deal maker. He's also right in with people at The Sun, News of the World and Nuts etc.

What a loving mother

I have no doubt she'll live to regret this decision

Just a quick reminder to those that think the sun shines out of Clifford's backside: one of his high profile clients is now behind bars for concocting a tabloid tale with him and he was also fined for his part in the sorry saga

Also, does Faria Alam look like a happy woman to you after been paid a reported 500k for her kiss-and-tell

Max Clifford wouldn't even take her unless there were good prospects. He will have made inquiries over the last two weeks and lined up provisional things.Unless Chantelle doesn't like him for any reason I reckon she would choose to go with him.

It is a provisional deal, all set up with the lawyers etc and needing only to have Chantelle's signature when she comes out. I'm sure they will have had a meeting where everything was explained to her and I would be very surprised if she didn't sign it. I would if my parents had set something similar up for me. And if she makes money out of it, what is so terrible about that? Isn't that what we do in our society?

I would think that, probably, Max Clifford is doing what he does best and that is getting the business before anyone else has a chance to. He gets Chantelle's mother to sign on behalf of her daughter with the proviso that, should she be averse to the idea, Chantelle could withdraw from the contract. If she is in favour of the deal - and he is the best publicist around - then her signature would complete the contract.

if this was pre set up by bb before she won then id have thought she would go to john noel agents, seeing as thats where the majority seem to go. davina, dermot and russell are all under him and its who gets the biggest bb stars to begin with, ie: nadia, jade, victor, michelle and stuart all signed to him in the early days.
i think max clifford has jumped in early and her signing with him is nothing to do with big brother.

He doesn't seem to be a good agent for the non-celebs

Max Clifford IMO is the most odious, creepy, selfish, lacking in morals, evil, man alive. (Maybe a slight exaggeration) (sp?) He has no trouble in ruining people's lives usually by taking on dirty, vile little slags like Faria Alam and Rebecca Loos, giving them a platform (i.e. News of the World) and then rake in all the money made from subsequent TV, newspaper, magazine apperaences. Then when all the work dries up he drops them and goes on to publicly slag THEM off.

Awful man. Truly awful.
