Just to make it clear, I am not the person who didn't like her and didn't vote - that is a reply to a post further up.
But she wasn't a media novice or a complete media virgin.
Chantelle had already made her mark, however small in the media circus. She has made topless appearences and appeared however small, on tv before. I know there have been other public outings, including her Paris Hilton lookalike appearences, where does that make her more of a novice regarding celebrity, than someone like Preston or Maggot who have probably had less public appearances than the sweet, naive Chantelle.

Maggot has played in front of 50-60,000 people at Reading Festival twice, i know because i was one of them. Preston has played all over the World including to perhaps 15-20,000 also at Reading, again i was there.
The couple of Hundred people at Elstree tonight is proberbaly the biggest crowd Chantelle has ever stood in front of.

Add 54 and 43.6.....Davina also made quite a point of sayign she won by a landslide.....56% out of 6 is a landslide, 56% out of two is close.

well Channel 4's site says Maggot got 23.5% so as i say, she got 56% of the final vote..she beat Michael by 7%...close but no cigar for Mr B
I voted for because she was genuine and honest, being herself from the beginning.
Some of the celebs were acting out their public persona's, which becomes increasingly difficult to do when you're being watched 24/7. When their true personalities came through some of them were not very pleasant people.

Were the others so interesting, talented, or intelligent that they ought to win a show that - we're told again and again - is "about personality"?
In any case, Chantelle handled a number of difficult situations very well in a house in which the supposedly more intelligent people often behaved deplorably.
If you couldn't talk to Chantelle about anything, that says something about you as well as about her.
I'd much rather have her round for dinner than Pete, George, Rula, Faria or even Maggot.
itsnotcricket has expressed the case for Chantelle very well, IMO.

Corazon, If you have a ten year- old, then you're probably a lot older than Chantelle and you are looking her from your current stage in your life. You may have felt different if you were at the same stage in your life as she is, don't you think?
She's maybe not got the highest IQ, but then that's not all that counts. She's smart in a lot of ways and seems to have a very bubbly nature, which is very refreshing. I get the feeling that she'll be happy whatever she does. I hope so anyway.

She applied for BB6 and was selected for CBB, but she thought it was a mixed show of celebs and non-celebs. She didn't know she'd be the only one.

not knowing capital cities of the world doesnt make you stupid. (however hitler, as most people know is definetly dead!) not knowing what a gynacolgist is, doesnt make you stupid. my 16yr old daughter who's predicted straight 'A' grades didnt know this either and shes not stupid - shes just never had reason not to know what one is. why do you say she's an idiot? admittedly she has a bit of a 'ditzy' trait, but thats not a crime is it? to a lot of people, it can be an endearing quality. anyway, as far as i'm aware, there is no hard and fast rule that only mensa members can qualify to win a reality show. as you say, chantelle is nice and sweet and happy.....which is probably why so many people voted for her to win.
as for having rula, maggot, pete, faria & george over for dinner? what on earth would i cook them? oh, maybe michael would 'chef' for me!
