Seemingly most people who voted think that anyone interesting or talented or intelligent is not worth anything anymore...

Rather pathetic.

Yes, Chantelle is nice and sweet and happy... but **** me I'd much rather have Pete, George, Rula, Faria or even Maggot round for dinner. At least I could talk to them about something.”

Your powers of conversation are somewhat limited then. I would be delighted to have Chantelle at my dinner table any time.

You have a point about the changes in youth today. My 16 year old nephew wishes he was old enough to enter BB7.

X-Factor and Pop Idol have a lot to to answer for

Only kidding..you do have a valid point.

Next year any old bird off a council estate could be there

First paper to feature her with her tats out- my money's on your super soaraway Sun!

Lord oh Lordy!”

It's a depressing state of affairs, she must be chav royalty.

It's disheartening that so many people voted for her to win.

All joking aside, these kids are in for a fall and the myth is perpetuated by shows such as we've seen tonight

The message is - education isn't important, it's all about glamour. Reward requires no work

I believe in the end she did

as for having rula, maggot, pete, faria & george over for dinner? what on earth would i cook them? oh, maybe michael would 'chef' for me!”

You really need to seriously talk to your daughter, having grade A's is no substitute for being ignorant. At 16 your daughter should absolutely be aware of gynaecology.

You're right Prosaic. It IS depressing. The best feeling you ever get is from struggling to achieve something. I do think though that kids now don't have the chances my generation had.

GB more or less only has the service industry now and with more and more teenagers going to work in dead end call centres, the thought of escape must be tremendous.

I wouldn't like to be a kid today. I don't think there's much for them to aspire to and it's sad.

Agreed. I think the root of it is that life in this country is incredibly cushy for most of us, and it's made our kids lazy and apathetic

We could have a whole forum dedicated to this alone....and I'm not joking

Seriously, there's a problem with young people needing a quick ride or easy route to fame.

Chantelle may well be an example (endorsed by Endemol) that this is the route to follow.

(Disclaimer: I still like you Chantelle.......but I fear for the youth today)

I dunno, all ths vitriol astounds me... and i'm usually the one to dish it out! Albeit not on this forum.

From the moment a non sleb was picked, endemol plotted for her to win, unfair you may say, but let's face it - that's what happened. They couldn't resist the delicious irony of a non-sleb trumping the no-mark c-listers that they are likley to get. Sure, for those too stupid to see the programme with a story arc, and as a piece of carefully plotted tv, it may seem like a bad beat, but if you're honest with yourselves, she was probably one of maybe three decent characters in there.

From the start she was the 'bad girl made good' - even if that wasn't true... she was one of the few HMs to show the requisite humbleness [sic], manners, and appreciation for her fellow sufferers. Sure, she is/was thick as dogshit but what did that matter, she's a wannabe? So what! They all are.

In a normal BB I would say vote off the dullards, forget the nicities, they're all cuntbuckets, but Chantelle was in exceptional circumstances and behaved exceptionally, she may not be my cup of cha, but it is quite correct that she won.

I seriously need to talk to my daughter? What right do you have to say she’s ignorant? I was just trying to make a point….I fail to see how this personal attack is constructive to the thread.

Are these any worse than wearing a monkey coat made from an endangered species? As to your comment 'any old bird winning it next' I find quite sad.
