I didn't know that - but how is that a fix?
presumably if thousands are turning up for the auditions it would literally take days for everyone to spend 5 mins with the panel. if each *proper* audition takes 5 mins, thats only 96 in an 8 hr day. I agree it would be a bit gutting to just get to sing a couple of lines, but as everyone is playing on an even playing field, its not a fix as such. Iain |

I agree with Iain here. Even though it's the production team they'll still put the best through and then the proper judges will decide.

Iain You start to que at 7a.m and a production team turn up outside at about 7.30a.m. now remember the doors to register don't open for another hour. This production team then spend 30 mins filming and photographing one particular couple waiting to audition (boyfriend and girlfriend). The production team also photograph one other girl in the whole que, a girl who just happens to be there with her 'Manager' who seems to know an awful lot of the production team. The doors open at 8.30a.m. and about 100 people get to register and go through to the 'holding room' where they are divided into groups of ten. After that the groups of 10 are taken through a group at a time in front of the production team and each person gets to sing 3 lines of a song. Every body files back out again and waits for hours in the holding room and at lunch time low and behold the only people chose to sing before the panel of judges are the girl with her manager and the couple previously filmed. Now you tell me does that sound like an audition to you? |

I guess that does sound less than ideal - but the flip side of the coin says that the handful with a manager are the ones who are already taking their singing seriously, are perhaps more practiced, have maybe had singing lessons, are therefore already have a head start and are that bit better than the hundreds who just turn up to have a go.
but I do agree it doesn't sound that great - but hey! - its a tough business and its never to soon to learn it! Iain |
