I was woundering if anybody could describe what genre Orson would fall into. i think its a cross between indie and soft rock? anybody else hav an opinion?

Judging by the airplay of this song, it's a certain top 3 for next Sunday's chart and depending on how it fights of competition from Charlotte Church, Chico, Pussycat Dolls and...erm...Kandy Floss then it could just make the top spot.

I've filed Orson under "boring American dad-rock that I never want to listen to ever again" along with Maroon 5 and that shitty O.C. theme tune that was released a while ago.

Quite right- I quite liked it at first but I'm sooo fed up of it now and it's not even released until tomorrow
The problem with pre release airplay being so far in advance of the actual release.

I would call it a funky pop rock tune. Although I haven't heard of any of their other stuff so I don't know what genre they fall into.

Yeah, there are so many good American bands around that we shouldn't have to put up with that tripe. Perhaps the better ones aren't radio-friendly enough .
