Thanks for that Automan, didn't know anything about it. Have you got any more links about superbit dvds, the link you gave just sticks on 'loading' for me?

hmm, i just typed superbit dvd into google and there were tons of sites on information... cant you search on your own?!?
http://timefordvd.com/feature/Superbit.shtml

anyway, i dont think i'll bother replacing any non-superbit dvds really. The region 1s have been out for ages, and i was never tempted... i mean, dvd quality is much better than what is reproducible on a tv anyway... why would you need any better?

if you're not getting an absolutely perfect picture already, i would say invest in a better player, cables and tv

Of course I can, however, Automan knows what is what so I presumed he would know the 'best' site to go to without me having to trawl through loads of google searches. Thanks for your link though.

These have been available for some time direct from the Columbia UK website. Appears they will now let other retailers sell these like in US and continental Europe.

Not sure they are worth it. Columbia titles usually very good quality picture wise, so can you really justify upgrading just for DTS unless you have something like a 50" screen.

Perhaps your machine does not have Flash 5 Plugin.

Try this to install if you wish http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/...ShockwaveFlash

I only have one R1 Superbit DVD, The Fith Element. However I'm not really sure I could spot much difference from the non superbit version.

I suspect it may just be a marketing ploy.

I also see £40.00+ special version are coming out of several other old movies includin Ben Hur, The Time Machine (1960) and North By Northwest. Same movies but with a few extras and a poster

£40 special editions! they better be very special indeed for anyone to buy them...

I like panic room, but surely it isnt really a film demanding the superbit treatment

play.com has them for £18 from what I recall, all with DTS as well, shame the list is mainly crap

all Due for release on 14/10/2002 from the site

I would be happy for new purchases to be super bit as I dont bother watching the extras on most of my films, wont bother replacing any though!
