here, here. Unfortunately 'certain' Doctor Who website owners believe in web-domination, which in this day and age - simply isnt possible. EOH gets a bad rep by some of the Forum members on OG - but I and DWO, will always support them.

The owner is a thoroughly nice chap, and just cos someone gets the odd prediction wrong doesnt mean they have a crap site - we all get things wrong.

No site is perfect, but the attitude of Eye of Horus does get up my nose on occasion. I think Outpost Gallifrey is a little too reticent to post rumours and Eye of Horus, at least in the past, has been a little too eager to present rumours as being closer to solid fact than he should have.

I take everything I read on the web with a pinch of salt.

Easter does seem a logical date, but of course this year it's much later than last year. There doesn't seem any physical restriction that would stop broadcast beginning at the end of March like it did last year.

The three new tenth Doctor tie-in novels are published on Thursday 13th April. Don't know if that means anything though (probably doesn't), but it may suggest the Easter date is correct.

I'm not saying Easter isn't the provisional date, but I hope it isn't. Starting that late will push it too deep into summer. If it started a couple of weeks earlier then that would put the Sarah Jane Smith episode on at Easter wouldn't it? Maybe a better option?

Thanks to the OP, but like others have already said I'll wait until the start date is announced by the BBC.

A lot of major sporting events are taking place throughout the summer so the danger is if the TX date is pushed back will it be bounced around the schedules if a match runs into extra time or England goes further than expected. People tend to lose interest in a programme when they don't know if and when it is going to be on.

i think i read in dreamwatch where they interviewed 2 guys from dr who that it was going to air in March. Does anyone know when Captain Jack's spinoff series Torchwood is going to start

Apparently that is running into a few problems so lordy knows when they will start filming and completed.

Anyone have any up to date news regarding Torchwood?

Yes - as we speak, all the scripts are being rewritten to have the entire series set on ice. this will allow John Barrowman to show off his skating skills and prove the Great British Public wrong for voting him off Dancing on Ice tonight!

As long as he is not wearing the outfit he did tonight..wasn't very flattering to JB's figure!

I've not really been following this but I saw a bit tonight and I was really sorry for him. I also saw a bit on ITV2 and was glad to see Bonnie Langford sticking up for him - bit of DW solidarity there!

(My daughter - who's 8 - was gutted BTW! )

Aw! Hope your daughter will be appeased when JB turns up in Torchwood.

All seemed a bit odd to me as there were people who did not skate as well and yet they made it through. The public are just so fickle!

As I said to my wife, when something like this is left to the public to vote for, they probably phone in if they like the song or the costume or the people involved anyway. Probably a lot of Corrie fans watch!

Anyway, good on JB for doing so well - I think he's a top guy and I'm sure he'll get a big kiss from RTD in consolation the next time he sees him!

I am sure he will but think JB would want one from his partner first!

None of this would have happened had the ice dancing judges been Ice Warriors (as I think I suggested on OG some years back).

The sooner they are put in charge of ITV the better!

I think most sites get up my nose too.

I think what is tragic is that the BBC DR WHO site is not taken in-house (by BBC WALES) as most fan sites get info and news online quicker by DAYS than the existing official site.

OG gets stuff wrong and it sets itself up as the ultimate site...but most fans forgive it. If HORUS gets stuff wrong, forums are awash with abuse and bile. Perhaps, there's something going on between the 2 sites?

OG takes its self too seriously (and no dares to criticise it...) so having "real" fan sites is appreciated.

Fandom is a broad church and we should embrace all views, news and information, coz its fun.

We all love DW.

I am now confused by the TX date! Surely, BBC WALES have recording schedules, Post-prod to complete and it would seem WEIRD if they have not been given an "end date" for production. BBC WALES know the TX date. - we'll have to wait and see.

Another site I like is UNIT NEWS - another fan made site.

I'm sure they know when production will finish but that has nothing to do with the scheduling of transmission. No doubt thr BBC will have a rough idea of when they want to show it but scheduling is never confirmed until 2 or 3 weeks before transmission.

Scheduling decisions are made centrally rather than BBC Wales so the final decision rests with the bods down in White City.

I think OG does accept it has faults- it shut down for a few days after the CE quit story broke, saying it was fed up with the flame war, and posted a strongly worded sticky post just before xmas invasion came on saying it did not want a repeat of that. But that does not change the fact that it is the biggest non bbc DW site out there.

I think the BBC got p*ss*d with them for promoting the Canada LEAK last year.

What are the chances of that happening again (i.e. another leak for episode 2 series 2?). It was fun downloading it for 28 hours! More TV stations taking DR WHO...more leak potential.

Big doesn't mean best! Check out http://www.tertiary.consoleroom.btin...o.uk/index.htm. Small but perfectly formed - with a true fan-voice.

Worth checking out.

I would'nt trust Eye of Horus with a barge pole myself.
OG is the best Doctor Who fansite out there, it gets thing's wrong from time to time, but shows caution with news item's. But theres more to than site than guessing when the new series might start.

The BBC cannot commit themselves to a start date for series 2, until enough episodes are in the can and ready for transmission. They are starting to come in now, episode 1 is finished. The Cybermen block of filming was almost done before DWM went to press. DWM is the place for news outside of the internet. The editor Clay probably has a better idea when series 2 will start, more so than the eye of horus.

I actually think the leak did them some good- hell there were 50000 people a day downloading it at one point- and over 10 million still watched. Aintitcool.com said it had 70000 emails regarding 'rose' and they said they were almost all positive. There was a great deal of good publicity over that leak.

****, I watched rose* on bbc 1, despite the fact I had seen it 6 or 7 times already!

* not to mention buying the basic release + the box set. And my tv licence. Remind me who exactly I was stealing from?

To get back on topic...

What's all the fuss about? If, as is probable, episode 1 airs on April 15th, then the final episode will air on July 8th, long before the schools break up and families go away on holiday. Yes, the nights will be longer, so fewer people will be in watching tv on a Saturday evening - but, as others have pointed out, as long as Doctor Who gets the highest audience share, what does it matter? As for the concern over football (yawn) or other sports running late and threatening the 7pm timeslot, I would imagine the BBC would simply shift them over to BBC2.

Relax!
