Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head
Mark H
06-08-2002
After reading a review in todays sun, i decided to download it. And four words describe it - Album of the Year! It's by far the best i've heard so far this year. This should establish them as one of the greats. Great songs include In My Place, The Scientist, Clocks, Warning Sign and God put a smile upon your face. When this album comes out, BUY IT!

sorry, you must have downloaded the wrong one

Me and my friends have been listening to it for a couple of weeks now... several diehard coldplay fans sorely dissapointed.

its not a patch on the first one!

were you dissapointed with In My Place, or just the rest of the album?

In My Place is actually good IMO. It stands out as an obvious single, its just thats the only one that stands out

The only tracks I've heard off your list Marko are In My Place and God Put A Smile On Your Face (which was on an early EP they did, can't remember which one though), both of which I like. Is the rest of the album like these two songs or is it all radically different?

I'm not going to download any of it until it is released, because it spoils it if it is a major release you've been waiting for for ages IMO.

Sorry but I asked same question in another thread, but where can I download this album from?

I'd like to hear the new stuff.

have to say this is an excellent idea - not sure how common it is, but I remember looking at the 4AD site ages ago when Tanya Donelly's album Beautysleep had just come out, and there was a micro site where you could listen too, but not download, the whole album.

At least this way you can listen to something in the comfort of your own home before deciding wether or not to buy it.

As I'm sure one of the reasons people download so much is that they simply couldn't afford to buy everything they thought they might like, and so are reluctant to buy stuff they're not that sure of, this would be a good thing to see more of.

The Streets 'Lets Push Things Forward' album was available in full as low-quality streaming WMA - it's a brilliant idea, and I bought the album on the strength of the WMA files.

Well I've just been down to my local Woolies and bought it - It's really very good.

They aren't a bunch of potential singles as Craig says, but that's because the general single buying public are a bunch of ten year old teenyboppers with no taste in good music. (eg- Coldplay )

My only gripe is that, just like Parachutes, there are no lyrics in the sleeve notes. However that's a minor point when the music is so good. More mellow than Parachutes, but just as good. If this isn't number one next Sunday I won't come on DS for a week

[edit] Actually I now think that God Put A Smile Upon Your Face would do well if it was released as a single. It's always been one of my favourite Coldplay tracks.

WOW, it has met my expectations.

GPASUYF is excellent and should be a single. The Scientist and Amsterdam are my other two favourites.

Politik took me a while, but I am liking it now.

9/10

I wish they had lyrics as well.

One change I would make is to swap Greeneyes for One I Love off the In My Place Single

I've just bought it this afternoon and (this will sound reallystupid) I've been really nervous about playing it because I loved Parachutes so much and can't imagine this will be as good!

However I feel more heartened now and will wait until dark have a nice chilled glass of wine and (hopefully) will enjoy!

Shame no lyrics though...I won't be able to sing along!

Hooray! Here's hoping for a number one spot for the Coldplay lads on Sunday evening then. (so that I can come on DS next week!)

My most favourite tracks are Politik, GPASOYF, The Scientist, Clocks, Daylight, Warning Sign, A Whisper, A Rush Of Blood To The Head and Amsterdam. Hmm, that'll be most of it then

I've not heard that one, because I don't tend to buy singles. I think I might just download it

Hence why I'm posting this week

I have a feeling it might just stay there for quite a few weeks more yet.
