BT / Easynet / Onetel Confusion!!!

I currently get my line rental from Onetel, broadband from UKOnline through LLU. I contacted BT today with regards to transfering my Line rental back to BT, as I'm thinking of signing up to Primus.

BT told me that I would need to contact Easynet (UKOnline's parent company) to do this.

I'm confused other than Broadband through LLU with UKOnline, I didn't think Easynet had anything to do with my Landline. If anyone, should I not be contacting Onetel? (Onetel have already told me to contact BT)

I'm guessing that had it been a normal line with no broadband the whole issue would be clear cut and BT would deal with it.

Any Ideas anyone?

Just found out that it is not possible to go back to BT unless I cancel my broadband. I think I'll stick it out for the remainder of the UKOnline contract and then switch back to BT.

You have to contact Easynet/UK Online to stop the internet as BT cannot do this for you.

After this has been done, you should contact one tel and request to go back to BT, then apply for UK online once again and then your new CPS service.

For advice only, contact Ofcom on 0207-981-3040 who will give you advice on changing supplier and note down comments about companies which are causing concern.

Would this mean that I would have to cancel and pay off my UKOnline 12month contract and reconnect after the return to BT?

I am concerned that I will have to start a new 12month contract with UKO.

Has anyone been in the same kind of situation and worked a way around all this daftness?

As I said you must call Ofcom on Monday morning on 0207-981-3040 and discuss this and they will be able to advise you further.

Ofcom is currently under going investigations about:

3-Mobile
UK Online

Take a look at this at ofcoms site about UK Onlines unfair contract terms!:
