Disappearing TAPS
KennyT

This probably has been answered elsewhere but I couldn't find it with a quick forum search...

From time to time, the TAPS I've installed don't load. That is, the Jags EPG doesn't come up and the 'press red for 3 minute skip' button (I can't remember which TAP that came with) doesn't work. Going into standby then switching back on again fixes it.

It wouldn't be much of a problem except that, I think, when the Jags EPG didn't start up, it didn't record a programme that was set.

Anyone seen anything similar? Is it something to do with leaving the box in standby? (which we now do at night, cos it ticks just loud enough to be annoying!)

Nope; not something I've seen. Best bet is to let people know in the TAPs forum exactly what you've got in your auto start folder.

If a timer is set, then it should fire whether or not that TAP that created it is running; standby mode shouldn't affect this at all - but sometimes TAPs do crash. And sometimes when they do, the box may need a power cycle, just as a PC sometimes needs one - a clear signal that's necessary is when the front panel display carries on showing the time when the box has started up.

Nigel.

OK, thanks. I'll double check the TAPs I've got loaded and report to the 'toppy' fori...
