Sony HTDDW740S/840S

Hi All,

Just been looking around and noticed these two Sony Home Cinema kits.

From what I can see the 840 includes ProLogic II.

Nothing I have seen however, suggests that a Remote Control is incldued with these packages. The Descriptions on Sony's set (which incidently only mentions the 740S version) don't say anything about a Remote Control, where on other products it is listed, and shown in the picture of the product.

This is also true for reseller sites.

Does anyone know anything more about these kits, especially as to whether they are any good, and do they include a Remote.

I have just had a look at my Sony catalogue for you.

The 840 is listed as having a IR remote commander type RM-U, the 740 just has a blank space so I presume it doesn't come with a remote control which I think is extremely unusual.

Between the two of them I would go for the one with Prologic 2 on board because it will make your tv/video/satellite sound so much better. I have had no experience of the two products however. I have a cheaper 215 system and have been extremely happy with that so I presume the more expensive systems will be even better.
