They are just as magical to watch now , as they were then.

Breathtaking.”

I didn't realise that Chris and Jayne are held in such high esteem in Russia, Olga, that's good to know.

Btw, if you read this, I emailed you via your site after you and John left the programme, and I was thrilled that you took the time to reply. Thank you.

As far as I know, there are only VHS videos available and they can be pretty hard to get hold of.

I have three T & D videos and a friend who knows these things reckoned they would sell for a much higher price than their face value because they are rare. . . .Not that I'm letting go of them because I love them

You could try Amazon and see if their marketplace feature comes up with anything. Meanwhile fingers crossed that the popularity of the programme leads to a DVD sometime soon . . .

Is there no way you could copy them to disc, or is that illegal ?

I'm wanting two things from DOI:

Knight/Damehood for Chris & Jayne (if Kelly deserves such recognition, then surely so do T&D - they mesmerised the whole country at their peak). Plus they seem to be mesmerising a significant minority just by re-appearing in the public eye.

A 'Best Of' DVD compilation. Surely there's got to be a HUGE market for it!

I was thinking about the Knight/Damehood the other day and when asking my mum about it, she said that she was sure that they did have something but they don't use it (she wasn't 100% sure though).

A 'Best Of' DVD sounds great! I'd be one of the first to buy one!

I think they were both awarded CBE's after the 1984 Olympics - if it had been now of course they would have been a Knight and a Dame no question.

It can still be done for services to sports etc.

The chance to see Torvill & Dean dance together is the main reason I'm still watching DOI. Fortunately I don't have to watch it live to enjoy their performance

I'm with everyone else in wanting a "best of Torvill and Dean" compilation on DVD. I wonder how we could get one?

Have they peformed Barnum on DOI yet? Ive seen them do, Lets Face the Music and Mack and Mable, then last week they did a new performance.

Personally Barnum was my favourite of all their routines. Even more so than Bolero, which brings me to my next question will they be peforming Bolero on the final show? Can they still do it?

They have done Barnham on the show if my memory serves me right.
I've got the last few weeks stored on sky+ so I'll have a look.

I'm sure Chris said on This Morning DOI special that they would be performing Bolero but it would be changed slightly because of their ages (something about the mind saying that they could do it but their body saying they couldn't!).

I emailed ITV at both extra@itv.co.uk and defrosted@itv.co.uk, suggesting they combine a best of DOI with a best of Torvill & Dean, since I reckon they'd be unlikely to Torvill & Dean on their own.

The more encouragement they get the better!

I personally don't believe there was never any romance between them.

There must have been, surely.

They were both awarded the MBE after they first won the World Championships (or the Europeans, not sure off the top of my head, John Hennessy's biography is packed away) in 1981.

I'm sure their official website has the answers as to what else they have.

But yes, if chip-on-shoulder-the-size-of-sack-of-potatoes-Kelly can be Dame (sorry, I'm really liking her less and less) T and D should have the Knight and Dame-absolutely.

edit and the new routine last Saturday to Robbie Williams..what a cracker.

They received the OBE around 2000. I have the picture somewhere. The ITV This Morning site confirded the date, but some sites said 1999 also. Who knows? Well anyway... OBE is the highest they have.

I read that Jayne said there was a short romance but it didn't work out. She said they skated better as friends although she said that they are in love with each other for 2 minutes when they are on the ice

If anybody didn't already know they've got clips of a few of their Dancing on Ice performances on the official DOI website.
(It's so hard to find clips of them online, in fact I haven't found any )
The move from last Saturday when Jayne just holds onto Chris's hands behind his back and cartwheels is amazing, they are just such a joy to watch.

Yes they really should bring out a DVD - I've been a T&D fan for many years- since the days of Mack & Mabel back in 1982. It's been a real delight seeing them back working together again.

I do follow figure skating, but even after all these years there haven't been any other skaters I've enjoyed watching as much. They really were special!
