Hi all

I don't know whether everyone knows this but G4 released a DVD of the Royal Albert Hall date of their sell-out 2005 Tour.

G4 fans would love to have another one of their Tour this year so I have therefore made a petition which I will send to Sony/BMG and Global (among others) once we have enough signatures... Just to make sure they do another one

Can everyone who wants another G4 DVD please sign the petition.

Thanks very muchly!

I feel a bit sorry for you G4 fans now, touting for signatures here on DS Needs must though

I might be tempted to sign this to help you out now especially as this thread isn't attracting much interest so far Good luck, an extra signature here and there can make all the difference after all

Knew you liked G4 really

I can tell all this "I might be tempted to sign to help you out" is just a facade.

Wouldn't want to lose face now would you

I'm sure they will release a dvd from this tour if it is profitable for them to do so. They will have an idea how much money they will be likely to make taking into account the last dvd's sales as well as record sales etc. I'm not sure a petition will help you get what you want though, I can't see them taking any notice of it tbh unless you get a few hundred thousand signatures but I would hazard a guess that it would be highly unlikely.

The first DVD had sold 25K by the end of 2005... so it was definitely profitable!

The reason we're doing this is because it's a petition that got us the first tour filmed

It may not work but there's no harm in trying

Oh right I didn't know that, I suppose your right then, they can only say no.
They sold 25K but how much money did they actually make and would it be profitable by their standards?

I suspect that they would be happy for the DVD to break even - judging by the new fans mine has recruited from people who can't easily get to the live shows & who bought their own copies plus the album after seeing the DVD it is a good publicity tool.

Well, I certainly won't be buying it, but I shall sign anyway. Good to hear that petitions do actually have some effect nowadays.

I'm not sure to be honest... They got to number 7 (I think) in the DVD chart, behind the likes of McFly, Westlife and Live 8 etc... So I assume if they're fairly close to those acts, they'll be making enough money for it to be profitable.

We'll have to see what sort of effect this petition has... I'll be sending it to a few different people to ensure it actually gets anywhere.

I'll report back if anything happens

I've signed!

I've not stopped playing the DVD of the first Tour - absolutely fabulous! G4's live voices are just incredible.
Jon holding out that note in Somebody to Love has to be heard! And the classical songs - WOW!

Fingers crossed for another DVD of this next tour - I cant even contemplate not having one!!!

I've signed!!

I'm pretty convinced they will have a DVD of the next tour so a petition can only help and prove to Global/Sony that they are doing the right thing!

Wonder where it will be recorded? My bets on either NIA Academy or Cardiff. Would LOVE it to be at the RAH again as the current DVD is SOOO good, so much interaction with the audience, but i can't see it being recorded at the same venue twice

I think it'll be either Cardiff, Glasgow, Belfast or Dublin, so that it's in a different country. We'll have to see though! To be honest, I'm not that fussed where it is, as long as there is one!
