The Ice Dance competition starts on February 17th with the Compulsory Dance. It continues on 19th with the Original Dance, then the highlight, the Free Dance on 20th February.

GB will be represented by John and Sinead Kerr. Maybe as a result of Dancing on Ice they can hope for a bigger home support than they might otherwise have had.

All Winter Olympics coverage will be shown on BBC2, but not yet sure if the Free Dance will be shown live, or just highlights. They are showing the Pairs skating live, and we have no representative in that discipline, so hopefully we'll get Ice Dance live too.

GOOD LUCK TO JOHN AND SINEAD!!!!!!!

I saw the routine a few weeks ago and i must say it was very good.A top ten finish is a real possability if they perform to the best of their ability!

I used to love watching figure skating and all the ice dancing on Eurosport but over the years Ive lost track of when and where its on, so will be definitely tuning in to support our British contingent and just to enjopy the visual spectacular once more.

On Monday - 4.30 - John and Sinead will be staring on Ready Steady Cook on BBC2. I knew they had filmed it but didn't know when it was to be broadcast.

I saw them on Eurosport a few weeks ago. Thought they were good. There was a British Pair as well, are they not going to the Olympics? I know they did quite poorly, where as John and Sinead did well.

Will we be represented in the mens and ladies figure skating?

Nice to see that the Olympic programme has left Saturday night free of ice skating so that Robin Cousins can fulfil his commitment to judging the Dancing on Ice competition .....

Just watched the Ice dance compulsory on Eurosport and have to say the judges seem to have let emotion rule their heads again with the Italians leading despite not being the best.

The same thing seem to happen with the Pairs on Tuesday when the chinese lady went splat only a few seconds into the routine and then went on to win the Silver medal.

Thought the Kerrs were seriously undermarked too

As I understand it, the old system of marking on Artistic Impression, comparative to the Artistic Impression of competitors, has been replaced by a variety of cumulative marks on more measurable individual qualities.. Hence, as the Chinese lady did execute all the required elements eventually, as well as show good interpretation of the music, she only lost marks on the bits that were faulty rather than from the performance in general as contrasted to other performances
as it would have been previously. I personally think the new system is a step in the right direction but the whole system need a radical overhaul if a fallen skater is beating others who did not fall. It ought not to be the case that a "failed quad" is worth more than a "perfect double" as in my opinion, a miss is as good as a mile

The Italians certainly didn't deserve top placing. The American and Russian couple were far better.

I suppose it has nothing to do with the fact that the games are hel in Italy...
