The BBC DR WHO website has the artwork sleeve for GENESIS OF THE DALEKS.

Oh dear ! The Estate Executive for Terry Nation is not going to be happy if that get's printed.

Davros' arm is on the wrong side.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/classic/news/index.shtml

We all thought that the "question mark" reversal for THE VISITATION dvd sleeve was reprehensible and sloppy...but this!

This error is not even a mistake - it's shameful.

Come on, BBC WORLDWIDE and 2ENTERTAIN - get your act together.

You'll be a laughing stock if you don't change it!

Maybe the image was created properly by the artist, but once out of the artist's hands it may have been a decision from the publishers of the DVD to flip the image horizontally because it looked better for them for whatever aesthetic reason.

It is annoying, but bearing in mind that it will sit on a shelf with only the spine showing, it doesn't really matter that much.

This is exactly the kind of thing which gets DW fans a bad name as nit-picking whingers!

It really doesn't matter!

Oi, whist civilisation falls apart because of some "cartoons" in the Danish press, you my pedantic friend should get some perspective, it's only a picture on a dvd cover.
Take my advice, get a couple of bottles of red wine, and some Galaxy chocolate, eat the chocs, drink the wine and live a little. Play loud music, or play your music loud. Just Let go a bit. You are a long time dead.
As Red has it in the Shawshank Redemption, get busy living, or get busy dying.

His arm is on the wrong side? Oh no!

It's hardly 'shameful' as you put it, be thankful the cover is actually a pretty good one as a whole. Besides, Doctor Who DVDs would sell regardless of what they put on the front. I'd even wager DW fans would probably buy them just so they could analyse the errors in more detail...

Looks like there's some nice extras on that dvd.

I don't own any Dr. Who DVD's but I'll be buying this one, arms in wrong places or not!

I was about 4 or 5 when this was on TV, but I remember it well... the giant clam mutant The Doctor's dillema about whether or not he has the right to wipe out an entire species... great stuff, can't wait.

I'm going down to the BBC's Printers to protest along with lots of others of Militant Who 'ers

(A Faction of Jihad Dr Who fans who have been fans for at least 8 weeks but not more than 12 !)

Then I'm going to burn my old TV licence and dance around the ashes in a circular fashion.

I bought this on vinyl. Narrated by Tom Baker to fill in the gaps... 6 - 25 minute episodes, condensed into a 45 minute album. I loved it, had it on tape too. Even then in my youth though, I couldn't help but wince at some of the editing, in particular the very end, when the Daleks rant about being the superior beings in the universe. Or rather, because of the cack handed tape op... The Superior beings of the Univer.....
Still loved it, and Tom Baker reads State of Decay, that was..............
interesting.

Arm on the wrong side. Whatever next? Authoring faults so scenes are missing? Bit of a cock up with the new SFX and a shot dissapearing? All the covers not matching up exactly? Problems with some players so you have to turn the effects on and off? Dear me, this will never do...

I really couldn't care about the little gripes about the Who DVDs, they are by far and away the most well put together DVDs released, and the RT always do an excellent job (The Beginning puts most releases of other shows to shame).

Already looking forward to Genesis.

Ok there has been a bit of a b***s up with the cover but I am sure it won't lessen our enjoyment of this classic and to have Baker on the commentary is a treat in itself!

I had those and I quite liked the State Of Decay tape. Those two and the Pescatons album were the nearest thing to having Doctor Who 'on' when you wanted long before the VHS releases.

Agreed. Some of the comments in this thread are extremely sad.

As for the cover, it's excellent. Stop whining.

I agree. The cover is excellent, doesnt matter which side his arm is on - we know who it is.

In fact we got given the full size wrap around cover which is a much higher quality than the one released by the BBC. The colours are much richer.

Unfortunately I cant post a link to our site here to direct people to, so I would encourage all those interested to PM me.

This thread brings back fond memories of religiously listening to the vinyl edit!

Possible Photoshop/InDesign CS errata's aside. The DVD cover art is pretty cool and those extras look mouth-watering.
