MAC COINNICH.........if you can believe it or not the reason why i started watching eastenders is because they are sooooo much more real then the "american soaps" i'd rather watch something more close to reality........american soaps are far from reality!!!! it's all glitz and glamour and we all know only the rich and the famous walk around looking like they came out of a magazine........

americans go mad for it I have found <remembers being drunk @3AM in NYC being forced to say wa**er lots> I used to find it amusing at my exgf's parents apartment in NYC because her and her sister have both attending university in Scotland so would talk about things they wouldnt normally do in front of their parents without them realising!

What would the equivilant of .......i'll get some dinner yeah?........ in American then? |

VOD is" video on demand". It 'ssimiliar to pay per view...but from what I gather you sign up for so many airings of a show and they bill you. And now you have to understand why BBCA would choose EE to be their first experiment for VOD. They know that we are addicted to the show and many of us will be willing to pay to see our beloved story...kinda like they are the drug dealer and we are the addicts.
andyk22: RobinHood-Sherwood Forest. do I win a bag of Walkers Crisps?....worcestershire please or prawn will do. Are you behind n Frasier or do you get to see the same episode that we see?

Thanks jansey. Although if BBC-A did go VOD then I think they`d still lose money on it. A lot of people are on fixed incomes and no matter how addictive EE is, some people just wouldn`t be able to afford it. Then theres the ones who wouldn`t pay it on principle. I`d probably have to resort to hanging around our street corner to pay for EE if thats the case
![]() My mother in law, who lives a block away from me has basic cable. And what she pays for the very basic of basics, we pay for 150 + channels and quite a few premium channels too. Not that I ever get the time to watch tv these days. But EE is definately one I make time for. |

Don't think they do sell worcestershire any more! The last episode I saw was when Daphne told Niles she wanted to go and get married now. I have no idea what the time delay from broadcasting on NBC to Channel 4 in the UK . Jsut wondered if there is an official start date over there? Also how easy is it to get tickets to watch an episode made? |

Intrestingly enough Media Guardian have written an article on the whole BBC America-Eastenders time slot thing. Bit slow of the mark though!

Andy, you can just write to the estudios requesting tickets. I`m sure theres a 1 800 number to call too.
Our fall season is on the verge of starting now. Can`t wait to see the new ER and Survivor 5 Although I do think that there won`t be any more ER`s after this one.On ABC theres a new medical drama starting soon call MD`s. From the previews it looks pretty good. |

Do you get Will and Grace over there??? It's one of my favourites. The Frasier Ep you mentioned Andy is about 1 year behind us but what another great show. The US does not have alot of great sitcoms they try but most of the times they are stupid...no real sense of humor to them. Do they show the Sopranos over there too?
Andy: They still sell the worcertershire...I get them on line and the store allows me to mix my choices...I know I will never order the pickeled onion again.....yuck...they tasted just like those little martini onions my parents would put in their drinks. |

I wish the US showed more of the UK's comedies. Not just the constant re-runs we get of changingroom and Groundforce...sometimes they show them 30 times a week....barf....excuse me but one can only take so much of them.

Not to mention Monty Blooming Python and Keeping Up Bleeding Appearences
It seems that whatever comedies I like, BCC-A rarely repeat them. Such as One Foot in the Grave, and The Royle family,. There is a drama coming to BBC-A next month that I`m really looking forward to seeing called Waking the Dead. I`m facinated with forensic shows. I can even watch `em while having my dinner

I love Monty Python! It's annoying that you americans get constant re-runs, in the UK it's limited to occcasional late-night showings on Paramount Comedy Channel.

Yer we get will and grace - it has a following here - it started off on a minor cable channel but Chanel 4 started showing it, they also show the sopranos ,friends, Friaser ,Oz , Sex and the city , the west wing - its like HBO but free! (i relasie some are NBC not all of them are HBO!)
hhmmm if they are avaliable online they msut be clearing them out - walkers did a big promotion of 'british flavours' in the run up to the wolrd cup Can you really buy green or purple ketchup? lol i don't think pickled oinion will be coming back from walkers soon jansey--ee! have you tried tomato ketchup flavour - yum! wavlovr - would a 1-800 (toll free) number work from england? jansey--ee and wavlovr in response to your rant about changing rooms it sounds like you have our UKStyle - endless DIY and MDF repeated on a loop of about a month!!!!!! Even UKGold and UKGold2 over here is guilty of showing so many repeats of programmes like Neighbours (australian soap) and not making enough time to show more stuff from there huge archives they instead show a limited amount of stuff. I think you will like the forensic dramas - they are quite popular here too |
