Do pay per view shows already exsist then??? - seems a bit extreme and would never happen over here for a programme - only sporting events and movies can be PPV - I subscribe to Formula One Digial Plus which is great!
hmm i never thought that American accents were hard to pick up so sureley it should be the same but I guess some of the launage might be hard to understand? How did you come across Eastenders? |

Pay per view does exist yes. They charge an arm and a leg if a brit expat wants to watch british football(soccer) on PPV. Then theres the Tyson fights, and other stuff on PPV too. there was even talk of having people on death row having their executions on PPV.
DirecTV also have whats called *Blockbuster Ticket* Basically you just use your phone to dial up a movie and watch it in the comfort of your own home. Its about $3.99 which is pretty expensive. The phone line is connected to the DirecTV receiver box. We don`t have a phone line on ours, don`t intend paying $4 for a movie I can watch for $2 at Blockbusters. And my kids love Blockbusters because they can rent all kinds of Playstation games for $2 and they can have it for 5 days. I rented Iris today from Blockbuster, can`t wait to see it. Judi Dench is brilliant. BTW Jansey....I checked BlockBuster for the Kryas movie you wanted and they didn`t have it. They were even nice enough to phone other BlockBusters in the area for me to check if they had a copy. When it comes on tv again I`ll tape it - promise.

Wow even executions seems a bit far but I wish they would bring the death penalty back over here to serve as an ultimate warning to others. Do you think it helps deter certains crimes in the USA??
If you looked at that lsit I sent you of Sky Channels I bet you noticed we ad a lot of PPV channels too! The only one I subscribe to is Formula One Digital Plus! Looking at the list you sent me and looking around the site I found that Directv offer nearly all premiership games for $269 or £172 whcih is a bargain! http://www.directvsports.com/Soccer/...es/EPL_2002-03 Over here to receve 66 games on Sky Sports the chepest option would be paying £24 for 9 months and then for 40 extra PPV games you would have to pay a one off £40 which in total equals £256 or $400 so you get a much better deal!!! Also you get a better deal with your blockbuster tickets (we can order them from either a box connected to the phoneline or ringing up to). You pay $4 or about £2.50 We pay on Sky £3.50 for a PPV movie or $5.45!!!! Blockbuster over here isn't much better on price but there movies are more recent! But $2 or £1.30 is a bargain for videos and games and I bet your kids like that as its in pocket money range and you get to keep them for 5 days! England seems a rip off compared to the USA!!! BTW I think Judi Dench is great. Just seen chocolat on Sky Movies! |

Iris was a good movie. I can see why Jim Broadbent won an Oscar for supporting actor. He was superb.
I bought my Matt a BlockBusters $5 certificate to put in his B/day card and it looks just like a credit card wit Sponge Bob Square Pants and Patrick on it. He`s so thrilled with it ![]() Andy...could you please put up the Skytv link again? I can`t find it anywhere. Thanks
