Regardless of whether you liked him or not, (and I am a fan of his and think his skating was and is, spectacular) he really should take defeat with grace and humility.
I’m fed up of reading his ‘We waz robbed’ whinging on Teletext and in articles. It’s all over and he should bottle his disappointment and learn a lesson from people who were voted out of Strictly Come Dancing when they shouldn’t have been.
Yes, on average Stefan is the lesser dancer, but just think how he must be feeling now with all Johns shouting. It wasn’t Stefan’s fault was it? And yes, Kelly is lucky to still be in the competition, but in every competition involving celebs, the sympathy vote always carries someone through to, maybe, the semi’s when they should have gone out in the first few rounds.
Please shut it John before you lose everyone’s respect and become known as a bad loser rather than a talented skater.

He was robbed. He can moan if he likes. He's not said anything bad about Stefan, and I don't think he feels worse because of anything John's said.

I get the impression that it's us and the media going on about John B being robbed more so than he is. You can't blame him for opinions on forums.

The judges are unfair and inconsistent, and it is different to Strictly Come Dancing in that contestants on that were voted out or saved, sometimes unfairly, by public vote.

The judges have the final say in Dancing on Ice and they are a crazy, mixed up, disparate bunch of people, all judging differently, so their final vote can be anyone's guess.

Though I wonder if, underneath it all, John (or the judges) have been advised by the producers to stir up a bit of controversy to attract viewers....?

I think it sould be down to the public as if the format carries on then in the end the judges will crown the winner and that is wrong for them to do that

Once the dust had settled from Saturday and after John appeared on This Morning and The Wright Stuff etc. The majority of the debate has been online and in the media. With the media publishing a lot of misquotes.

I suppose, with so many loyal fans, there was always going to be an outpouring when John went. This has been increased because of the circumstances surrounding his departure.

The internet is a forum for debate and I'm pleased to say that we have done John and the Barrowgate situation full justice.

In interviews/appearances where John has been in control of how he has presented himself i.e. actually him appearing in person, I personally think he has come across very well. Obviously upset, but honest in his feelings, eloquent and funny. The only show that I think he has done extra to anyone else voted off was The Wright Stuff and I think that was because he's been on there before and most of that show was about 'talking points' not DoI. On teletext and in articles, it is up to how the writer wants to portray him, so personally I think it's unfair to criticise him for that. Newspapers and magazines can use old quotes (even from before his exit) and repeat them ad infinitum to whatever end they choose. I also agree with what previous people have said that it's more the media and online discussions that have kept talking about his exit... so with that, I'll shut up

Anyone can be gracious and self depricating when they win. But it takes maturity to be gracious in defeat. John Barrowman is coming over as a whinging yank... shame coz he's a really nice guy

I think we've answered this in some of the above posts. Most of the continued debate has come from the internet and the media.

Erm..... its easier to argue when all your facts are correct. John is not a 'yank' as you so nicely put it, he was born in Scotland and his natural accent is Scottish!! Any way he has not been ranting, it is the media taking things out of context to create these kinds of debates. John does not rant, he said he doesn't like the b*tching in some reality Tv shows and that why he picked this 'healthy' competition. He was upset that he got voted off when he was one of the few who really put their heart and soul into it, he really enjoyed it. If anyone was in his shoes they would want answers too. In all of the interviews where we have seen him in person he has come across as very likeable indeed!! He seems like a great guy and hope that we see more of him really soon.

I agree that unless something is seen or heard coming from the horse's mouth (so to speak........... not calling John a horse ) it should be taken with a fistful of salt.

However, I disagree that he has come across well in spoken interviews. He has said a few things that make him look like a very sore loser. I just believe he thought he had it in the bag and that no one could stop him with the exception of Bonnie and remotely probably Sean and Gaynor.
