Recorded a couple of decent films over the weekend and want to transfer them to disc. Is there a way of finalising a disc and not having one of the dodgy menus?

I don't think that it's possible with the Pioneer 433/530/630. It might be possible on a computer with a DVD-R drive...

To play the disc on a PC it needs to be finalised first anyway.
You could record onto -RW,then copy to the PC HDD and use whatever PC authoring software you have to create the --R disc with better menus.
But its a lot of effort just to get some decent menus,surely the film on the disc is the important thing

It is, that's why I do not want some cheap menu popping up when I put the film into a DVD player. Wouldn't be so bad If the template menus were OK but 5 out of the 6 are naff.

If its the film thats important who gives a toss what the menu looks like.
After all,it should be onscreen for no more than a few seconds.
Burning to dvd then onto PC then back to dvd again just for a menu seems silly

Heard from Pioneer yesterday and it seems the first program on the disc will automatically start playing. You will only get the menu If you press the menu key. Problem solved.Agree about the burn to DVD, transfer to PC, dabble re-burn. Barkin'

Another idiosyncracy is that other programs recorded onto the disc will also continue to play automatically after the first one finishes! Unless of course you press stop.

Well recordings made on my Pioneer recorder go straight to the programme,but stick the disc in my Pioneer dvd player and the menu appears first
