Cant't get on the toppy.org.uk website this morning, just getting a load of gibberish error messages about SQL and servers.
Anyone know what's happened?

Seems OK now.

I'm now getting (only) the SQL messages. It was ok up to about 2 this morning. I've just installed Mystuff 4.02 and was trying to find the program to convert Jags searches to control timers. It's very frustrating!

Nigel ( the webmaster) has just reported (on Toppy.UK) this was a problem with one of the servers, which should now be fixed.
He has been in Paris over 'le weekend' and sounds like he had some trouble logging on himself

The biggest problem I had logging on from paris was those damn french keyboards.
We had a system problem on the database server that powers the site content, which is a separate machine from the web server and the database for the forum posts, so although the main site pages were down, the forum was still running.
It's running ok at the moment, but I'm having to do a little nursing on the server, which is due for an upgrade as soon as I've put together the cash.

mmm...I hadn't seen any of these problems, but then I noticed that my bookmark jumps directly to the forums - now that I try going just to http://www.toppy.org.uk , I have the same problem as you.

http://www.toppy.org.uk/forum/index.php, assuming it's the Forums you're after, of course

Yes; the secondary database server for site content is continuing to have prolbems this morning, and I'm trying to resolve those - at the moment, I can't even log in to the server to check it's status.
I'm unsure if this is related to the arrival over the last few days of ovet 600Mb in one of my users' mailboxes.

Hey thanks for that - I did try something simlilar earlier - just must have picked the wrong page to load
Pretty much whichever page you load outside the forums will redirect you to a temporary front page. Something very very peculiar seems to have happened to the system.

Well, it's a huge amount of mail, so I am a little suspicous - it was actually in the mailbox of one of my other clients, so it's not directed at Toppy.org.uk if it is malicious.
