No but seriously. 2 weeks running 2 of the best SKATERS have been thrown out. Its not supposed to be purely based on how high someone can be lifted or how fast someone can be spun around in the air (he should have let go of Bonnie to see how far she flew haha).

Sean and John had great personalities. They brought a bit of realism in the show. 2 real people having a go at someone different!!!.

I am biased ill hold my hands up to that but i didnt think that sean deserved to go this week.

He had so much guts and determination and it was said so last night that he has been more than the others from the beginning.

I thought Sean was fantastic and did better than a lot of people expected. My respect goes out to him.

The judges all said they judged on the performance but Jason said "one person has gone as far as they can go in this competition, so I choose Kelly" and Robin said "I go for the Olympian".

If they truly did choose on the skate off performance then they ought to have chosen better language to say so!

I just wish I could understand the rules better, if the judges just marked on last night performance surely Bonnie and Sean should have been in the skate off. Sean did a great compulsive jump Bonnie didn't. Still I suppose the right one went on the night. Sean always made me nervous to watch him.

Someone said earlier that the way is being laid for Bonnie to win, it seems to me the way is being laid for Kelly 'I've got a lot of gold medals - stop yawning or I'll put you in the Tower' Holmes. This lady really bores me, her dancing, her attitude, her disrespect for her professional partner. Christopher Dean said that Kelly should have been in the dance off last week, at the end of her dance off this week they were very cool towards each other. He is trying to steer the public - who knows how or why they are voting. Kelly Holmes was stumbling more than once during her dance off and had a face of thunder. She has gone as far as she can - not Sean and I take offence at that comment as I am sure Sean does. This is all only my opinion given as a neutral. My favourite went out last week - no more to be said about that!!!!!

I think the result last night was correctly called by both the judges and the public. A lot of people seem to dislike Kelly Holmes's personality and it is getting in the way of their vision. Her routine was the more graceful of the 2 bottom ones last night. Sean's dancing at the opening was like the bride's dad at a wedding. The genderbender lift was extremely laboured - yes, it was an achievement to do it but dancing is supposed be beautiful to look at and that was not.

I was shocked to see John go last week & now Sean this week.
Kelly is so obviously the weakest skater there - by a mile, IMO - & yet the judges are sacrificing the good skaters to keep her in.
Just look at the re-run of the required elements (the jump) - Kelly's was apalling. All she did this week, was get pulled round the ice slowly by her partner & managed to remain upright (just!)
I wouldn't be at all surprised if some of the more arrogant, egocentric 'celebs' didn't negotiate a respectable 'stay of execution' as part of their contract.
'Dame Uppish Holmes' certainly seems the type to do this.
She must be aware of her limited media appeal - inarticulate & unpleasant personality - can't see her being a presenter for Sports Events, like the lovely Colin Jackson & many other ex-athletes - I think this is quite an important event in her CV!
Too important to risk being voted out early!

I have just re-watched last nights show and Kelly was only skating on her own for 5 seconds!
It was a lovely routine but she was pulled around a lot.

I said this last night. She was just stood on one leg being towed around. She may critisise Bonnie for being assisted in the lifts but she is no better herself. Her routine made her look like she had skated better but it was incredibly slow, safe and easy. She didn't have to do very much in my opinion.

Yes.....I didn't think about it too much during the first performance but looked out for it today.
Not much skating going on there really. When she did her jumps was the only time she was un-assisted.

Well the bottom 2 scorers with the judges this week were Sean and Kelly, weren't they? And so was the result combined with the public.

Last week John came third with the judges, but the public put him in the bottom 2.

I find it hilarious that people are slating the judges when the public, like in EVERY reality competition, are a far FAR worse threat to any fair results.

I think a revamp of the judges' rules is needed next series. Maybe 2 marks should be given, one set for skating skills (which would let Bonnie down), and one for the presentation and acrobatics, which obviously Bonnie would score high on. That would be a more accurate list, then they add the public vote...

In the skate-off, the same could apply, and we'll really be able to see whether the judges are being honest or not.

I think that they should just leave the voting to the viewers and have no skate off!! Then whoever has the least votes would go!! I mean John was in the bottom two but he may have had more votes than Stefan and Sean could have had more viewer votes than Kelly but yet Sean had to leave! If they leave it down to the viewera then we know where we are with the system!!!

Basically there is absolutly no need for the judges to be there atall. It should be based either purely on the public or purely on the judges not a mixture of both. They do not in any way steer people to vote, if anything we go against what they say because they cant possibly know what they are talking about(!?!)

I would keep the judges voting system and the 2 with the lowest judges scores are to go up for public vote. Thats the only way it can be fair.

Its more of a popularity contest than a skating competition.

Granada were not allowed to use the same scoring system as scd even though it makes more sense and is more fair.

I think a large part of the blame for many people finding the judging on DOI problematic lies with ITV as producers. They've certainly not made it clear to me exactly what criteria the judges are using, nor what the GBP should be looking for, beyond their favourite. I'm not sure if this is because of poor organisation or if ITV is encouraging confusion because they think the resulting controversy will be good for ratings / voting.

The shenanigans on the show the last couple of weeks make me think the judges and contestants don't know what the criteria are either.

IMO this week's show made one thing clear at least - overall the judges prefer the pretty routines to the tricky ones. On reflection I think this is what they've been doing all along - the skaters amongst the judges have talked about technique, but most of the time flash has been getting better marks than technique.

I couldn't tell if Barrowman's performance on the 4th was more subdued because he intended it to be, or because he was nervous (yeah, it could have been both +/- the most subdued piece of music he'd had) but if it was intentional he should have been watching what the judges were doing instead of listening to what they were saying, and he might still have been a contestant.

I suspect the remaining skaters have all worked it out by now...
