Kelly Holmes - the Chico of Dancing On Ice!
She's following the same sort of pattern as Chico now, she's been the weakest performer since the start and has just been saved by the judges, even Jason Gardiner who has slagged her to an inch of her life!

Her performance was good tonight.
She was far far better than Sean or Bonnie. |

It's like Simon Cowell saving Chico over the Conway Sisters all over again!

There is something about Kelly which makes it hard for me to take to her. She comes over as so driven and competitive. This is what gave her the edge in athletics but in this type of show you have to be able to make the audience enjoy your performance and want to see you again. She had a face like thunder when she realised she would be in the dance off . I'm just not warming to her.

I just can't warm to her.
She is very tough and as other FMS have said competitive. she thinks that because she won olympic medals she has a right to be there, it is embaraassing everytime she goes on about well these legs won me two gold medals - yeah we know!! Fair enough she wasn't as dreadful this week as others, but she is still very bad IMO. She is so awkward, and lacks any grace or elegance on the ice. I know there is nothing she can do about her build but to me she is just so clunky. |

It's her attitude I have a problem with not just towards her skating partner but seems to be quite bitchy towards Bonnie as well.
She was in the bottom two this week, despite having skated better people are now beginning to realise and not voting for her. |

Yeah, agree with most of you guys.
OK, his singing talent was questionable, but at least Chico was fun & brought some pleasure & laughter into our homes on Saturday night. Sulky Kelly just winds me up - she has a face like a slapped a***, is uncomfortable to watch - about as much grace as a hippo! & projects an unpleasant attititude. On the basis, these things are most probably rigged, I can understand why they kept Chico in - the entertainment factor! I'm really beginning to think that the 'Dame' must have negotiated a respectable 'stay of execution' as part of her contract! I can think of no other reason for her still being there! |

Nothing like Chico in that Chico actually was nice to everyone and seemed to be a genuinely nice person.
Kelly had the audacity to argue with Todd last week about how he's always got to be right and can't admit when he's wrong!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoa just a minute!!!!! Todd is a professional Ice Skater. Kelly is an athlete. There is a slight clue in that the Professional knows what he is talking about and a mere beginner riding on the back of the Professional is out of her depth by taking this attitude!! OK Kelly, you may be an Olympic champion but it doesn't make you an expert in Ice Dancing nor does it give you the right to question your Professional partner!!!! And by the way....IMO Kelly can't skate (she's being towed round the ice by Todd) and should have been voted out weeks ago!!! Dame Hissy Holmes is more like it!!!

I think Kelly took a leaf out of Bonnies book last night. She didn't spend a lot of time on the ice; Todd lifted her into next weeks competition.
Sean as always skated beautifully, but the judges continued to penalise the lack of lifts - and didn't seem enamoured of the gender bender stunt. Beats me how the true skaters get hammered every week. |

She has a serious chip on her shoulder. She would never dream of going out of her way to talk to you.

I have also noticed Kelly Holmes bad atitude. She cannot bear any critiscism, and is so competitive it's quite unpleasant. She sulks and tries to be smart with her remarks. It doesn't work.
She is not a dancer, she is not a skater - she is a driven athlete. In the personality stakes she doesn't do it for me though any more. It's just another tv programme Kelly - just entertainment. She should have gone out weeks ago. [PS I used to like her!] |

I liked her before she went on Dancing on Ice, but for the last 3 weeks I have really been wishing she would end up in bottom 2 and then go. I am really routing for Gaynor to win this, I really hope she can get to the final and win it now

Colin Jackson in SCD - we got to know & really like & likewise David Seaman in this show. But for the likes of George Galloway in BB & Kelly in this - it's the death knell! I had no preconceptions about 'Dame Hissy Holmes' until I saw her on this programme - I now dislike her intensely. For some 'so-called' celebs, relative obscurity should be the preferred option - the less we know about them & see them outside of their chosen profession, the better - that way they can keep the illusion going! |

TBH after a career in the Army and many years competitive athletics at the highest level, the fluff and girliness of Ice Dancing probably doesn't come easy.. No wonder she comes across as gauche... It's the antithesis of the way she has been expected to behave in her life up til now. She's a "grit your teeth" type, not a schmoozer

I greatly admired Kelly until recently (and I still have the utmost respect for what she has achieved as an athlete). It's just that she doesn't come across as a particularly pleasant person to be around - I don't get the impression that she is well-liked by her fellow contestants (or even by T&D for that matter).
It's a shame, but she can do something about it by being more respectful of others, especially her partner. I don't think it's all down to not being a 'schmoozer', more that she needs to lighten up, build some bridges and learn to take criticism with a bit more grace (not that she posesses much on the ice)!

I'm surprised the judges kept her in over Sean
I don't think its fair that they should judge it on the one performance because everyone makes mistakes.. They should be thinking about past weeks too.

The opposite being true of David Seaman for me also. Never could really take to him in the past, but since seeing him on this programme, liking him now
